BOLDINGS REPORT  30/8/11         

 

Carl Foster (Preston Innovations Boldings) picked up the top prize on Monday at Boldings Pools, winning the ‘affordable’ from peg 8 on the Hawthorn Pool. Pellet and corn in the side did the trick for Carl, bringing in carp to 8lbs fro a total of 80-11-0.

          Pete Davidson (Oakengates Ang Cent ) was best man on the Beech to finish second overall on 77-8-0. He had his fish, carp to 7lbs, on maggot and pellet at 5 metres and close in at peg 20.

          Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) had a level 72-0-0 for third at Hawthorn 1 and Graham Evason (PI Bold) collected 4th for his 58-15-0 at Beech 10.

          At £10 all in the Monday matches are becoming more and more popular with newcomers to the open circuit, with the long list of payouts giving everyone a decent chance of making the prize list. Contact the fishery on 01746 763255 for details.

 

          The Middle Pool at Boldings proved best on Wednesday, and gave a repeat  of last weeks Wednesday top two.

Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) put up a winning 74-15-0. He was on peg 9 and had carp to 7 lbs on pellet at 5 metres to finish 10lbs clear of last weeks runner up Tony Foster.         

He was on peg 1 on the Middle and took his 64-3-0 on shallow pellet. Mel Kitson (R&G) topped the Stock Pool card with 60-9-0 for third and at the peg next to the winner Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) scaled 55-4-0 in 4th.

 

          Top catch of the week went to dave Jones (Weston Pools) when he stamped his authority on the Thursday open from peg 15 on the Chestnut. Carp in the 1lb to 3lbs range fell to shallow fished pellet, and were backed up by better samples to 6lbs on corn down the side to give a final tally of 131-2-0.

          Mel Kitson was in the mix again, picking up second this time thanks to 86-10-0 from Chestnut 30. Mel had carp to 7lbs with bream to 3lbs on pellet and corn. Rino Stanko (Oak Ang Cent) netted 81-7-0 for third and Last weeks winner Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) had 74-10-0 in 4th.

 

          Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) found his winning touch again on Saturday and topped the ton from Beech peg 32 to win with 102-13-0. Shallow pellet, combined with paste and corn in the margins brought carp to lbs to the net.

          At peg 21 on the Chestnut Carl Baker (Stourbridge) had carp to 6lbs and barbel to 2lbs on pellet and corn to weigh 86-3-0 for second. On point peg 32 on the Chestnut Simon Jaques (Marks Tackle) netted 77-14-0 to finish third and Rino Stanko was in the frame again when he scaled 68-10-0 at Chestnut 17.

 

          Steve Hall (Oswestry) picked up maximum 8 points on the last Preston Innovations league match of the month on Sunday when peg 30 on the Chestnut featured again, giving Steve a return of 101-12-0, with carp and bream responding to shallow pellet.

          Andy Williams (Vespe) was second on the day with a Sycamore best of 91-5-0 from peg 13. Maggot and corn accounted for carp to 8lbs in Andy’s net.

          Mark Lloyd (Oak Ang Cent) pipped Gareth Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) to 3rd by 82-14-0 to 82-7-0.

          League leader Gary Morris failed to score any points on the final match but had done just enough to take the August title with 16 points. Gareth Emlyn was just one behind on 15, and the aggregate weights were close too with Gary having 250-0-0 for the month and Gareth 244-12-0. Pete Ricketts was third with 12 points.
