Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  9/8/11.

Dave Matson (Rod & Gun) had a good week at Boldings with two wins and two fourth placings, while fellow Rod & Gun man dave Barnard had top weight of the week.

It was Phil Shaw (lower Hill) who started the week with a win though, taking the laurels on Monday by weighing 104-1-0. Shallow pellet at Ash peg 3 found carp to 4lbs and chub to 2lbs to give Phil his win.

On the end of the pool on peg 23 Dave Jones (Weston Pools) fished shallow pellet in open water, alternated with close in corn to net 93-10-0 of carp to 6lbs for the runner up prize. Last Saturdays winner Bob Tromans (Fiery Holes) picked up third for his 66-9-0 at peg 18 and Dave Matson collected the first of his prizes for the week by scaling 52-6-0 at peg 12.

The first of Matson’s wins came on Wednesday at peg 32 on the Beech. Corn and pellet fished down the edge brought carp to 9lbs to the net for 97-4-0.

At peg 14 Keith Miller ((New Willenhall) had a mix of carp and bream on pellet at 6 metres and close in to weigh 82-5-0 and on the point Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) had 53-2-0 in third.

Dave Barnard left the rest well behind on Thursday when he included carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs in 124-14-0 winning net, ‘Barney’ was drawn on point peg 13 on the Sycamore and took his catch on pellet at 4 metres.

Mark Foster (Preston Innov Boldings) was top man on the Chestnut with his runner up 82-12-0 of carp and barbel on pellet at peg 6, and just behind him John Wild (Stafford) had his 79-0-0 from Chestnut 9.

Dave Matson was back at the top of the list again on Saturday, and so was peg 13 on the Sycamore. Thursdays winning tactics of pellet at 4 metres worked again with the same stamp of carp and bream putting in an appearance again to give a return of 87-7-0.

Dave Barnard added to his Thursday win by recording a Willows Pool top weight of 75-2-0 at peg 8. Pellet at 3 metres and in the margins found carp to 6lbs and barbel to 2lbs.

Pete Plant (Maver) claimed third at Sycamore peg 6 where he weighed in 73-6-0 and back on the Willows Carl Baker (Stourbridge) had 64-13-0 from peg 4 to finish 4th.

Winner of the July Preston Innovations individual Sunday league Sean Barber (Maver Sonubaits) opened his August account with a full points tally on Sunday. Pellet, fished shallow and close in at Beech peg 11 put Sean 10lbs ahead of the rest when carp to 7lbs added up to 94-15-0.

Gary Morris (PI Bold) fished the margins with pellet at Chestnut 28 for 84-4-0 of carp and barbel to take second. June winner and July runner up Kelvin Emlyn (Oakengates Ang Cent) was in the running again, taking third with 79-6-0 at Chestnut 1, and Dave Matson picked up his second 4th prize for his 76-14-0 at Beech 22.
