Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  31/5/11.

Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) and Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) exchanged places from the previous week at the Monday open on Boldings Pools, when Eric took top spot this week, and Colin collected second.

They were on adjacent pegs on the Hawthorn with Eric on 13 and Colin on 15. Eric presented corn and paste at 4 metres and in the side to find carp to 7lbs, which gave a winning total of 91-12-0, while Colin worked pellet and corn at 6 metres for his catch of bream and carp for 87-12-0.

Third placed Carl Foster (OB Wolves) was best on the Stock Pool with 80-2-0 and at Hawthorn 11 67-15-0 gave Keith Miller (New Willenhall) 4th.

On the Sycamore on Wednesday Bob Tromans (Fiery Holes) put his name on the winners envelope with a mixture of carp and bream from peg 47. Carp to 8lbs and bream to 2lbs competed for Bobs corn and pellet on the close in line to give figures of 89-3-0 at the finish.

Fellow Fiery Holes rod Frank Mountford fished corn at 4 metres to each side of peg 8 to net an all carp 74-4-0, which was one fish too many for Dave Matson (Rod & Gun) on 71-14-0 at peg 13. Carl Foster (OB Wolves) was a close 4th with 70-1-0 at peg 5.

Andy Williams (Vespe) topped the Thursday card from Beech peg 11 where corn in the margins found carp to 8lbs and put 102-14-0 on the scales to put him 7lbs clear of a close battle for the remaining places.

Steve Hall (Oswestry) claimed second with less than a pound to spare when he netted 95-2-0 at Beech 7, his catch comprising carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs, caught on pellet and corn.

John Wild (Stafford) led the way on the Oak Pool to finish third overall when he scaled 94-5-0 at peg 5, leaving Mick Williams (Telford) to pick up 4th with his 92-15-0 at Beech 18.

Jason Elwell (Pro Line Wednesbury) converted his 4th on Saturday last week to first place this week, and had the to catch of the week. Drawn on Sycamore 8, Jason chose to fish maggot, a choice which resulted in a succession of carp to 9lbs and barbel to 2lbs dropping into the net for a total of 111-8-0.

Martin Davenport (Dorset Pool) offered paste over pellet on the 4 metre line at Sycamore 48 and had carp to 7lbs with bream to 2lbs in a net weighing 83-1-0 which gave him the runner up spot.

Scott Doodson (Preston Innovations) finished third with a Larch Pool best of 72-5-0 from peg 15, and back on the Sycamore Colin Reynolds made the frame again, finishing 5 ounces shy of third on 72-0-0.

Kelvin Emlyn (Oakengates Ang Cent) had a win at Boldings on Sunday to add to his Woodcote success. Carp, barbel and bream all featured in his 94-11-0 winner, which he tempted with maggot, fished into the corner and to the right of Sycamore 27.

Chestnut pegs took the next two places, with Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) just getting the better of Jamie Langford (Maver). Pete was on peg 30 where pellet and paste put 81-6-0 on the scales to pip the 80-9-0 by Jamie at peg 23.

John Wild put in his second appearance in the frame by scaling 69-13-0 at Sycamore 11.
