BOLDINGS REPORT  27/7/11.

The Middle and Hawthorn Pools at Boldings were on top form for the Monday open when 112lbs was only good enough for 4th place.

Carl Foster (Preston Innov Boldings) led the bag up match list by hauling out 151-3-0 from peg 1 on the Middle Pool, the winning bait combination being corn and pellet, fished down the side for carp to 7lbs.

Dave Matson (Rod & Gun) fished meat and corn to the island at peg 5 on the Hawthorn to net a level 144-0-0 for second. Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) as on Hawthorn 3 and had 119-7-0 in third, and Eric Bancroft (R&G) made his customary Monday appearance with 112-11-0 at Hawthorn 1.

Carl Foster made it two in a row when he won again on Wednesday, this time from Sycamore peg 8. Fishing pellet at 5 metres and corn to each side of the point put carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs in the net to total 86-12-0.

Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) was on the other Sycamore point and fished paste at 5metres and close in for 77-2-0 of carp and barbel. Phil Shaw finished third again, his 59-14-0 coming from peg 24, and beating Tony Foster (PI Bold) by 1lb when he weighed 58-14-0.

Howard Williams (Weston Pools) had a hundredweight on Thursday when carp to 9lbs and barbel to 2lbs homed in on his pellet at 5 metres and corn in the side at Sycamore 21 to give figures of 112-3-0.

Sycamore 13 came up with second again, this time for Ed Turner (PI Bold) who also had carp and barbel in his 99-6-0. Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) scaled 89-3-0 for third at Sycamore 31 and Andy Williams (Vespe) was best on the Chestnut with 88-14-0 in 4th.

Mel Kitson (R&G) found his winning touch again on Saturday with a paste and pellet attack at peg 7 on the Beech Pool. Carp to 8lbs snapped up the baits to give Mel a return of 96-6-0.

Pellet at 5 metres and corn into the corner at Beech 11 put 82-10-0 of carp to 7lbs in the net of Mick Williams (Oakengates Ang Cent) to give him second. Jason Elwell (Pro Line Wednesbury) led the Ash catches with his third placed 72-9-0 and Dave Matson made the list again, scaling 63-10-0 at Beech 29.

On Sunday Dave Hailey (PI Bold) scored his second win of the July Preston Innovations Sunday league, and amazingly, his weight varied by only one ounce from his previous win when he recorded 138-4-0 at Sycamore 20. Carp and bream responded to his corn and maggot, fished in the margins.

Pete Ricketts recorded his second runner up of the week, and wasn’t far behind the winner with a Chestnut best of 131-4-0. Pete fished pellet and paste to each side of peg 4 to find carp and barbel.

Third went to Gareth Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) who weighed 105-5-0 at Sycamore 49, and Kelvin Emlyn was back in the Preston points after his week off to Qualify for the big Maver match. He was 4th with a Willows top score of 99-4-0.

Sean Barber stays on 19 points at the top of the July table, Kel Emlyn moves to within one point of the lead with 18 and Dave Hailey climbs to third on 16.
