Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  6/7/11.

There was more success for Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) when he sealed a hat trick of Monday open wins at Boldings Pools this week with his third successive Monday win, and each win has come from a different pool.

Have previously won from the Chestnut and Willows pools, this time Erick led the way on the Ash after drawing peg 7. Paste, fished in the side put carp to 6lbs on the scales for a return of 125-1-0 for Eric.

Just short of the ton in second place was And Buckley (Telford) at peg 5. He fished pellet up in the water and corn close in for 99-6-0 of carp to 5lbs. On the end of the pool Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) had 83-12-0 for third and just behind him, on 82-2-0 was Mick Jones (Kidderminster).

Rod & Gun men filled the top three places on Thursday, led by Dave Matson at Chestnut peg 37, where he scaled 107-9-0. Eric Bancroft featured again, filling second this time, and topping the ton again with 102-5-0 at Chestnut 34. Dave Barnard was the other R&G man in the frame, he had 82-13-0 for third at Chestnut 18.

Andy Williams (Vespe) was top on the Oak Pool with 68-5-0 for 4th overall.

The Rod & Gun run continued on Saturday when John Francis turned in a winning performance from peg 13 on the Sycamore. John fished pellet at 4 metres and corn in the side to net carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs for 93-3-0.

Dave Matson followed up his win with a runner up by taking the top catch from the Willows Pool, 78-0-0. He caught on shallow pellet and corn close in at peg 19, with carp and barbel making up the catch.

Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) was only 2 ounces off second with 77-14-0, also from the Willows, and another Willows catch of 71-10-0 gave Carl Foster (Preston Innov Boldings) fourth.

Dave Hailey (PI Bold) recorded the top weight of the week to take maximum points in the Preston Sunday league match. Peg 13 on the Sycamore came up trumps again, responding to a pellet and maggot approach, which brought in carp to 9lbs and bream to 3lbs which totalled 138-5-0.

Kelvin Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) moved into the lead of the pints table by adding a second place to his third of last week. He was on Sycamore 23 and had carp to 10lbs in his 121-9-0, which he caught on maggot.

Jason Elwell (Pro Line Wednesbury) scored his first league points with an Ash Pool best of 112-14-0 for third and Eric Bancroft secured his second hat trick when his 89-0-0 from the Willows gave him his third frame spot of the week.
