Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT  1/3/11.

 

          Top weight of the week at Boldings Pools came at the start of the week when Ian Hughes (Drennan NW) beat the 100lb mark to win the Monday match. Offering maggot to the far side of the Acorn at peg 3, Ian contacted carp to 6lbs and tench to 1lb to put together 101-7-0.

          Matt Stobbs Oakengates Ang Cent) found carp to 7lbs using pellet at 5 and 10 metres at Acorn 7 to claim second with 64-6-0. A Hawthorn best of 60-13-0 gave Carl Foster (OB Wolves) third, just ahead of Eddie Edwards (Dorset Pools) on 60-0-0 at Acorn 5.

 

          Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) made peg 1 on the Larch pay on Wednesday when he posted 71-15-0 by fishing pellet at 10 metres and in the side to find carp to 4lbs.

          Three weights in the fifties filled the rest of frame led by 59-13-0 from Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure)at Sycamore peg 18. Tony Foster (OBW) was top catcher on the and third overall with 53-5-0 from peg 15, and at Sycamore 8 Alan Jones (Deggys) had 52-4-0 for 4th.

 

          Maggot at 12 metres saw Andy Williams (Vespe) home on Thursday, producing carp to 8lbs for 67-1-0 at Sycamore 48.

 

          Tony Foster moved up a place in the frame, taking second from Sycamore 16, where he had carp in the 1lb to 3lb range for 63-3-0. Third man John Wild (Stafford) had top catch on the Oak, 51-7-0 and a Chestnut best of 50-10-0 gave Ted Ecclestone (Stafford) 4th.

 

          The Willows Pool proved favourite on Saturday, providing Tim Probert (OBW) with a 77-7-0 winner. Drawn on peg 8, Tim picked off carp from 1lb to 4lbs with pellet at 10 metres.

          Mick Jameson collected his second runner up prize with a maggot and pellet based 57-15-0 at Willows peg 16 and John Francis (Rod & Gun) made it a Willows top three with 49-2-0 at peg 18. Just behind Francis was Pete Plant (Maver) with a Larch best of 49-0-0.

 

          John Francis moved up to first on Sunday, heading a close frame from peg 16 on the Sycamore. Pellet at 5 metres and close in put 52-15-0 of carp from 1lb to 4lbs in the net for Johns victory.
