Boldings report    21-7-16.

Matt Eggerton [Oakengates Ang Cent] virtually doubled the weight of his nearest rival in the Monday open at Boldings Pools this week when he put together 119-12-0 of carp to 8lbs and barbel to 4lbs at peg 22 on the Sycamore Pool, using pellet at 5 metres.

Caster in the side and at 5 metres put Owen Boswell [PI Boldings] in touch with carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs at peg 39, but he couldn't keep pace with the winner, and finished on 59-14-0. Carl Foster [PI Bold] was one fish behind Owen with his 57-3-0 at peg 8, which left Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] to finish off the frame at peg 6 where he had 53-9-0.

Working caster to the far bank, and to the nearside at Willows peg 8 saw Paul Hemmings [Monkhall] through to victory on Wednesday with a mixture of carp to 7lbs, and barbel to 4lbs which came to 109-14-0.

On the Chestnut Pool Stuart Aston [Swan] offered pellet to take carp and barbel, with fish to 6lbs and 3lbs  from close in and at 5 metres adding up to 91-2-0 at peg 21. Tony Foster [PI Bold] was on Willows peg 16, and weighed 85-3-0 in third, with Clive Wynn [Tricast Weston] collecting fourth for his 74-3-0 at Willows 11.

Rob Hancox [B&D Floats] won on Thursday with the best catch of the week, but it was a close run thing as his 133-5-0 from Sycamore peg 4 gave him a winning margin of less than 3lbs. The net of carp to 8lbs fell to caster, which rob presented in the top layer of water.

Dave Pritchard [PI Bold] was the man in close second, his carp to 7lbs and barbel to 4lbs for 130-8-0, came to pellet and corn, fished to each side of Sycamore peg 8. Maver rod Dave Brown led the way on the Chestnut to fill third overall, his 118-4-0 coming from peg 32, and the Chestnut provided Darren Warden [B&D Floats] with 79-1-0 for fourth at peg 4.

In the heat on Saturday Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] scored with a maggot and pellet approach at peg 23 on the Larch. Fishing the baits shallow, and close in put 85-2-0 of carp to 7lbs on the scales to seal the win.

Dave Brown moved up a place from Thursday when another pool best performance put him into second. Oak peg 22 yielded 74-4-0 of carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs, which accepted caster, fished shallow and down the side. Rob Hancox framed again, adding a third to his first by scaling 72-12-0 at Larch 16, and just behind him was Bob Baker [Ind] on 72-5-0 at Oak 18.

Dave Brown completed his three steps to the top on Sunday when his caster and maggot combination netted carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs for a level 110-0-0 at Chestnut peg 16.

Dave Pritchard returned to the frame, his Stock Pool best of 103-7-0 on pellet, corn and maggot giving him the runner up prize at peg 7. In a close third was Dave Lloyd [Maver] on 99-9-0 at peg 11 on the Stock, while an Ash Pool best of 85-13-0 gave fourth to Mark Stevens [PI Bold] at peg 1.
