 Boldings report    6-7-16.

Three of the five opens at Boldings Pools gave all ton weight frames and there was a close race for the top weight of the week.

The first all ton frame came on Monday and was led by Tony Foster [PI Boldings] from peg 5 on the Beech Pool, where Tony fished pellet at 3 metres and tight to the bank to pick off carp to 7lbs on his way to 129-1-0.

Matt Egerton [Oakengates Ang Cent] headed the Oak Pool carp, finishing one fish short of the top weight with 125-9-0 of carp to 6lbs, caught on corn and pellet down the side of peg 22. Along at Oak 29 Pete Sawyer [Bronx] scaled 116-6-0 in third then at Beech 7 Owen Boswell [PI Bold]  had 105-6-0 for fourth.

Dave Brown [Maver] was back to winning ways  on Wednesday when he left the rest some way behind on the Sycamore with a 152-13-0 winner.  Maggot in the side and shallow at 6 metres accounted for carp to 6lbs, bream to 3lbs and barbel to 3lbs at peg 8.

Graham Palmer [Fitters] had carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs on caster and maggot to each side of peg 18 to finish second on 98-4-0. Dave Pritchard [PI Bold] was 4lbs behind Palmer with his 94-3-0 at peg 4, which left Paul Evans [PI Bold] to complete the line up with 73-11-0 at peg 25.

Rob Lynch [Ind] was the man to record the best catch of the week at the complex when he took the Thursday honours from peg 39 on the Sycamore. Caster and maggot, shallow and close in put 168-4-0 of carp to 9lbs and bream to 3lbs onto the scales.

Dave Brown was there again, filling second this time with a Chestnut top score of 161-14-0 from peg 36. Similar tactics to those of the winner found carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs. Chestnut 16 produced 107-11-0 to give Adam Jones [Black Country Misfits] third, just ahead of Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] on 106-12-0 at Sycamore 50.

Colin Reynolds moved up to first on Saturday when his 91-8-0 from Larch peg 16 put him just clear of a close battle for second. Colin used pellet at 6 metres and in the margins for carp to 7lbs.

Simon Christian [Sedgley] squeezed into second when his 86-4-0 from Larch 26 just held off Darren Cooke [Bronx] whose 85-6-0 was the best weight from the Chestnut. Back on the Larch Kevin Melville [Shrewsbury] recorded 79-3-0 for fourth at peg 8.

Harry Colley [PI Bold] just missed out on claiming top weight of the week in consecutive weeks when his Sunday winner  fell one and a half pounds short at 166-12-0. Harry took his catch from peg 4 on the Larch, which yielded carp to 9lbs and bream to 2lbs, which accepted corn, pellet and meat.

Maggot produced carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs to give Gareth Emlyn [Oak Ang Cent] figures of 147-10-0 for second at Oak peg 27. Last Sundays winner Andy Williams [Vespe] picked up third from Larch 16 thanks to 142-15-0, and a Willows best of 130-14-0 gave Pete Davidson [OAC] fourth.
