Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  23-10-12.

Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) opened the weeks proceedings at Boldings Pools with the top weight of the week to win the Monday open, the weight coming from peg 7 on the Stock Pool. Carp to 8lbs, together with skimmers homed in on Colin’s pellet and corn, which he presented at 5 metres, and close in to the bank. At the end of the five hours he had 119-8-0 for a clear victory.

Colin Wozak (Telford) followed up his win on the previous Sunday with a runner up spot. He fished maggot, up in the water for the best catch from the Middle Pool, 90-4-0, from peg 8.

Stock peg 10 saw Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) net 82-8-0 to finish 3rd and fourth went to a Hawthorn Pool best of 76-11-0 by Andy Williams (Colmic Vespe).

There wasn’t a lot in it on Wednesday when one fish separated first and second, which both came from the Ash Pool. Brian Clark (Colmic Marukyu) was the man with the extra fish, having caught on pellet, fished at 8 metres, and close in at peg 18, he weighed in 92-2-0 of carp to 7lbs.

On the opposite bank, at peg 3, Joe Brennan (PI Boldings) alternated shallow maggot with close in pellet, to record 88-9-0 to pick up the second prize.

Gary Morris (PI Bold) led the way on the Beech Pool to finish third overall, his 79-15-0 coming from peg 16. Also on the Beech was 4th man Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) on 75-10-0 at peg 7.

Steve Roberts (Oakengates Ang Cent) took the first of two victories when he won the Thursday match from peg 5 on the Willows. Shallow maggot found carp to 5lbs which added up to 115-12-0.

On the Chestnut, Eric Bancroft put in another appearance, improving on his previous third placing to take second this time. Eric varied his 5 metre attack with corn and pellet with the occasional visit to the close in line and found carp to 8lbs with barbel to 3lbs for a weight of 92-17-0.

At peg 7 on the Willows Richard Duke (BAS) had 78-14-0 for third and at peg 4 on the same pool Carl Foster (PI Bold) scaled 75-5-0 to complete the top four.

The second win for Steve Roberts came on Saturday after he drew peg 32 on the Beech where his maggot method helped him pull clear of rest. Carp to 7lbs came from both the 4 metre line and close in to give a return of 88-8-0.

Out on point peg 7 on the Beech Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) worked pellet, close in and at 5 metres to net 71-7-0 of carp to 7lbs to fill second spot. Third went to Steve Hall (Oswestry) at Beech 11 where he landed 68-4-0. Colin Wozak made the list again, taking a Larch best of 66-7-0 at peg 4 to finish 4th overall.

Having finished second last Sunday Dave Craggs (Maver Midlands) climbed a place this week to claim the top prize. Pegged on the Willows again he stuck to the shallow pellet approach which worked last week, and netted carp to 6lbs on his way to 91-2-0 at peg 7.

Last Saturdays winner Steve Owen (Mid Leisure) put his name on the second prize by weighing 88-7-0 at Willows 11. Steve had carp to 7lbs on corn and pellet, alternated with shallow pellet.

79-12-0 from Willows peg 13 gave Ed Turner (PI Bold) third, just ahead of Phil Rhodes (Mid Leisure) on 79-10-0 at Willows 17.

Top man on the Chestnut was Gareth Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) who was 5th overall with 73-15-0 at peg 21.
