Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT  29-11-11.

 

          Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) extended his good run at Boldings with another win on Monday, when pellet at 4 metres and 10 metres found carp in the 1lb to 4lb bracket, which gave a winning total of 44-7-0 at Oak peg 22,

          Russ Allen (Oswestry) took his fish on the 12 metre line at peg 16, with fish to 5lbs adding up to 39-8-0, giving Russ second place. Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) finished third for the second Monday running when he scaled 36-1-0 at peg 1 and Ian Hughes (Drennan NW) followed up his win last Wednesday with a 4th on this match, weighing in 28-12-0.

 

          With a fourth and a third to his credit last week, Tony Foster (Preston Innov Boldings) claimed the top prize on Wednesday this week, winning from peg 6 on the Deepdale Pool. Pellet fished at 5 metres and into the corner put 43-2-0 of carp to 4lbs on the scales.

          Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) was top man on the Middle Pool, netting carp to 6lbs on pellet at 4 and 8 metres to take second overall with 36-14-0.

          Third and fourth also came from the Middle, with Tony Cornes (PI Bold) third on 31-2-0 at peg 3 and Carl Foster (PI Bold) 4th at peg 5 with 23-11-0.

 

          Kevin Melville (Maver Total Angling) was the clearest winner of the week when he finished 14lbs ahead of the rest on Thursday when his was the only frame weight from the Chestnut. Carp and barbel fell to pellet and maggot at 12 metres at peg 7, with samples to 5lbs and 2lbs giving a return of 52-6-0.

          Eric Bancroft was in the mix again, and like the winner he had carp and barbel but he carp ran smaller at his peg, number 4 on the Sycamore. Fish to 3lbs came to pellet fished down the shelf for figures of 38-4-0.

          In third this time was Mark Foster (PI Bold) who had 36-10-0 from Sycamore 34 and following him was Sean Pearce (Wednesbury) on 34-14-0 at Sycamore 6.

 

          On Saturday there was a difference of only two ounces between first and second when Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) just squeezed home ahead of John Francis (Rod & Gun). They were both on the Larch Pool, Andy at peg 4 and John at peg 22 and both offered pellet. Andy tempted carp to 4lbs fishing at 8 metres and close in, while took all his fish, carp to 5lbs, fishing at 10 metres. At the whistle Andy had 57-7-0 to John’s 57-5-0.

          Last Sundays winner Mitch Davidson (Oak Ang Cent) filled third place when he weighed 43-14-0 at Larch 25 and a Willows Pool top weight of 42-15-0 saw Matt Stobbs (Oak Ang Cent) into 4th.

 

          Sean Barber (Maver Sonubaits) finished off the week with the top weight, 67-15-0 to win on Sunday. He was drawn on Hawthorn peg 9 and worked pellet at 13 metres to net carp to 7lbs.

          Stafford rod John Wild caught carp to 5lbs at 10 metres at Hawthorn 7 to finish second on 60-3-0. Colin Reynolds had another third by scaling 53-15-0 at Hawthorn 3 and Dave Hailey (PI Bold) had a Middle best of 50-10-0 for 4th.

          Winner of the Preston Innovations angler of the month for November was Dave Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) with 13 points and the runner up was Rino Stanko(Oak Ang Cent) with 12.
