Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) eased into first place on the Monday Affordable open at Boldings Pools with a net of carp to 6lbs weighing 82-8-0 from Beech peg 11. Pellet fished at 5 metres and in the edge found the fish for Eric.

Colin Reynolds (Bilston Angling Centre) was back after a six week lay off due to illness and began a very successful week with a runner up placing, courtesy of an Oak pool top score of 60-5-0. He had carp to 5lbs on pellet fished to the side of the tree and at 8 metres.

Oswestry rod Russ Allen picked up third at Beech 5 where he had 50-4-0 leaving Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) to take 4th with his Oak pool 48-8-0.

Colin Wozak (Telford) is on a good run at Boldings and added a Wednesday win to list this week, taking the honours from peg 5 on the Hawthorn. Fishing pellet and maggot to the island he picked off carp to 5lbs on his way to 66-4-0.

Over at peg 13 Tony Foster (Preston Innov Boldings) fished the pellet close in and at 7 metres to slip into second place with a weight of 62-5-0. At peg 7 Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) was one fish short of second to weigh 59-15-0 and 52-1-0 from peg 11 gave Gary Morris (PI Bold) 4th.

Colin Reynolds picked up the pace on the Willows Pool on Thursday to add the first of two wins to his Monday second spot. Colin made the top catch of the week to win this one when his pellet attack put 97-1-0 on the scales at peg 13.

Mick Jameson made the frame again, moving up to second and pushing the winner with 92-2-0 of mainly ghost carp at peg 19. Third at peg 16 was Jeff Harston (Weston Pools) on 87-8-0 and at the next peg Kelvin Emlyn (Oakengates Ang Cent) had 66-14-0 in 4th.

Saturday was a harder day after the Friday night rain and a shift to a northerly wind, but victory was just as sweet for Colin. This time the Beech Pool was the scene of success, with 50-10-0 on pellet, fished to the paddles and at 5 metres at peg 20 putting him top of the card.

Dave Brown (Maver Midlands) worked shallow caster at peg 29 to finish a close second on 47-13-0. Opposite the point at peg 23 Mick Foan (Oak Ang Cent) scaled 41-3-0 for 3rd and on the point Sean Barber (Maver Sonubaits) had 38-6-0 for 4th.

On the Sycamore Pool on Sunday Vance Heath (Oak Ang Cent) was a clear winner of the open with a straight lead and corn approach at peg 13. Carp to 7 lbs picked up the bait to give a 51-8-0 total.

Mark Lloyd (OAC) maintained his run of form to finish second. He was on peg 4 and had mostly barbel on pellet at 14 metres, with the odd carp to 4lbs helping him to 28-14-0. Russ Allen had another third when he put 27-9-0 on the scales at peg 8, and Colin Reynolds put in his fourth appearance, taking 4th with 25-14-0 at peg 34.
