Boldings report    26-4-17.

Harry Colley [PI Boldings] continued his run of successes at Boldings Pools by winning the Monday open from peg 8 on the Sycamore Pool this week. Using his usual combination of pellet, meat and corn, Harry took control of the match with a steady supply of carp to 9lbs and bream to 3lbs, which he built into a 152-11-0 winning total.

Runner up Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] was top man on the Chestnut Pool with an all carp 126-15-0 from peg 32. Andy worked the margins with maggot and pellet to find carp to 8lbs. Also on the Chestnut was third placed Dave Hailey [PI Bold] who scaled 109-3-0 at peg 39, to stay in front of Tony Woolaston [Fatty's] at Sycamore 21, where he weighed 97-9-0.

Things were much more subdued on Wednesday when Dave Mortlock [PI Bold] won in a close encounter with Simon Christian [Sedgley]. The Sycamore Pool gave the top weight again, with Dave bagging 49-4-0 of carp to 5lbs and bream to 2lbs at peg 21, where maggot at 5 metres accounted for the fish.

Simon was on peg 13 on the Chestnut and finished just 12 ounces behind on 48-8-0. He caught on maggot and pellet at 5 metres and close in, and had all carp to 5lbs. Matt Stobbs [Oakengates Ang Cent] wasn't far off the pace with his 45-11-0 at Chestnut 21, and Harry Colley was in the prize list again with his fourth placed 44-8-0 at Chestnut 6.

Things were close again on Thursday when the action switched to the Willows and Ash Pools and two pegs close together  on the Willows gave the first two weights. Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] claimed the top prize with a mix of carp to 6lbs and barbel to 4lbs which gave a weight 76-6-0 at peg 12. Eric took his fish on pellet, worked at 5 metres.

Just round at peg 14 Mick Keene [Tricast Weston] fished up in the water with pellet at 5 metres to contact an all carp 73-15-0, which was made up with fish in the 5lbs bracket. Matt Stobbs collected another third when he recorded an Ash Pool best of 72-12-0 at peg 16, and Tony Woolaston had another fourth for his 71-6-0 from Willows 19.

Andy Price [Oak Ang Cent] didn't let things get too close on Saturday when he finished 26lbs clear of fellow Oakengates Centre rod Alan Naylor. Andy drew peg 25 on the Sycamore and fed maggot and pellet at 6metres and close in to the bank to pick off carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs on his way to 93-5-0.

Alan operate with the same bait combo at Larch peg 1, where carp to 5lbs came from close in and off the 10 metre line to give figures of 66-12-0. Larch 19 produced 58-5-0 to hand third to Mick Jameson [PI Bold] and at Sycamore 8 Steve Hall [Oswestry] had 42-6-0 in fourth.

Richard Guest [Maver] pinched the top weight of the week from Harry Colley when he topped Harry's Monday winner by just under a pound. Peg 26 on the Beech Pool responded to the shallow maggot tactics employed by Richard, who had carp to 7lbs eager to snap up his bait, which he also worked down the edge for a haul of 153-10-0.

Dave Lloyd [Maver] had carp to 6lbs on maggot at 6 metres and in the side at Beech 11 to weigh 121-14-0 for second, ahead of Terry Edwards [Swan Elite] whose 112-6-0 came from peg 5. Clive Wynn [Tri West] completed the action with 105-3-0 for fourth at peg 20.
