Boldings report

Boldings report    9-9-15.

Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] had a successful week at Boldings Pools this week, with a match win, two second placings and a fourth.

His win came on Monday when he drew peg 13 on the Oak Pool and carp to 7lbs homed in on his pellet and corn bait, presented to each side of the peg. As the match progressed Colin established a 23lb lead over the rest, finishing with 113-15-0.

Peg 13 on the Willows Pool came up with second place for last Saturdays winner Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] who had carp and barbel in a net of 89-14-0 on pellet and maggot. Andy worked his baits at 5 metres as well as down the side, and had fish to 5lbs and 4lbs respectively. At Oak peg 29 Paul Eckersall [Garbolino Elton] was one fish off second with his 85-6-0, and 66-7-0 from Oak peg 8 gave fourth to Tony Foster [PI Boldings].

PI Boldings rods filled the frame on Wednesday, led by Paul Evans, who included 20lbs of roach in a net of carp to 8lbs at Ash peg 18. Paul had all his fish on caster, which he offered close in to each side of the peg. That 20lbs of roach helped to establish a 26lb advantage by pushing Paul’s total for the match to 102-15-0.

On the opposite side of the pool, at peg 7, Paul Roberts led the chasing pack by weighing in 76-4-0. He caught on pellet and corn, presented at 4 metres as well as down the side, and netted carp to 6lbs. On the end of the pool at peg 23 Carl Foster filled third by scaling 70-11-0, and Phil Foster followed at peg 9 where he recorded 61-5-0.

Jordan Hall [Middy] likes the Thursday matches at Boldings and notched up another Thursday success this week by winning with the best weight of the week, 167-11-0. He left it late to clinch the victory with a flurry of activity in the closing stages of the match.

Caster, fished shallow in open water, as well as down the side at Chestnut peg 21 , found carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs, which saw Jordan overtake Harry Colley [PI Bold]. Harry was on Chestnut 15 working pellet and corn at 4 metres and close in and netting carp to 8lbs. At the whistle he was left needing three more fish when the scales settled at 145-9-0. Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] collected third for his 128-2-0 at Chestnut 18 and Colin Reynolds picked up his fourth place thanks to a Sycamore Pool best weight of 112-1-0, which came from peg 49.

On the Willows Pool on Saturday Jason Atwell [Kingswinford] ran out the winner from peg 8. Carp and barbel, to 6lbs and 4lbs moved in to mop up his corn and pellet on the close in line, to give a winning bag of 93-7-0.

Colin Reynolds had the first of his two runner up finishes by weighing 78-6-0 at peg 5. Steve Hall [Oswestry] was one fish behind on 73-3-0 at peg 16 and 58-12-0 from peg 19 saw Carl Foster into the frame again.

Dave Hailey [PI Bold] completed a hat trick of Sunday open successes with another big winner this week. Peg 21 on the Chestnut hit the heights again, responding to shallow pellet this time to give a catch of carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs, which saw Dave heave 152-8-0 onto the scales.

Colin Reynolds appeared in the list for the fourth time and was runner up for the second time by scaling 131-2-0 at Chestnut 27. Carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs fell to pellet and corn, which Colin offered at 4 metres and close in. Eric Bancroft finished in third again, less than a pound behind on 130-5-0 at Chestnut peg 4. Jordan Hall added a fourth to his mid week winner when he had an Oak Pool best weight of 118-0-0 at peg 31.
