Boldings report

Boldings report    15-9-15.

PI Boldings rods filled the frame on Monday at Boldings Pools with the best of the four being Phil Shaw. He drew corner peg 30 on the Sycamore which he tackled with shallow fished pellet to contact carp in the 5lb bracket to put together his 96-12-0 winning bag.

Mick Jameson had bigger carp at peg 36, with samples to 7lbs, together with bream to 3lbs, which helped him to record the first of three mid-week placings by putting him in second place. Mick’s 83-11-0 gave him 10lbs to spare over Carl Foster, who had 73-1-0 at peg 48 to pip Harry Colley on 72-6-0 at peg 21.

Wednesday saw another PI Boldings man at the top of the list when the action switched to the Chestnut Pool and Paul Evans took the main prize for the second Wednesday running, in what turned out to be a close match.

Paul went for a caster attack at peg 27, working the bait at 4 metres and close to the bank. Carp to 8lbs and barbel to 3lbs moved in on the feed to give Paul figures of 102-6-0.

Mick Jameson was second again when his pellet at 5 metres, and to each side of peg 32, put 99-6-0 of carp to 5lbs in the net. Phil Shaw also framed again, finishing less than a pound behind second with 98-9-0 at peg 38. Fourth went to Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] over at peg 21 where he weighed in 91-2-0.

Jordan Hall [Middy] was another rod to make it two wins in successive weeks when he took the honours again on Thursday. Having won from peg 21 on the Chestnut last week, he did it this time from peg 21 on the Sycamore, where shallow caster attracted carp to 6lbs and bream to 3lbs for a total of 132-1-0.

Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] worked paste and corn in the margins at peg 13 to fill second spot, but was some way behind the winner with his 70-10-0. Mick Jameson added a third to his list by scaling 53-4-0 at peg 27, and just behind him was Rich Pedlar [[PI Bold] on 52-8-0 at peg 45.

Chestnut peg 27 came up with another winner on Saturday when Steve Owen [Monkhall] made the top catch of the week, 172-4-0. Like the mid week winner, Steve had carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs, which he found with corn, fished to the island.

Simon Christian [Sedgeley] had carp and barbel at peg 10, which he caught on caster, close in and at 4 metres to take second with 97-5-0. Steve Hall [Oswestry] put his name on third by netting 91-14-0 at peg 30, and round at peg 21 Adam Rumble [Ind] had a level 90-0-0 in fourth.

The Ash Pool gave the winner on Sunday whilst the remaining weights came from the Oak. Dave Brown [Maver] picked up the winners purse courtesy of 114-11-0 of carp on shallow maggot and caster at Ash peg 18.

Best on the Oak was Mitch Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] who had 71-4-0 on pellet at peg 1. Kel Emlyn [Oak Ang Cent] was on peg 31 where 67-1-0 put him in third, ahead of the winner of the last three Sunday opens Dave Hailey [PI Bold] who scaled 51-7-0 at peg 29.
