Boldings report

Boldings report    19-8-15.

Owen Boswell [PI Boldings] found nothing unlucky about peg 13 in the Monday open at Boldings, as he took victory from Willows peg 13.

Weights were down quite a bit when compared with recent match returns from the pool, but a match win is still a match win, and Owen took his victory well by working caster and pellet shallow at 5 metres and 12 metres for 75-8-0 of carp to 8lbs.

Peg 8 has shown good form recently, and featured in the frame again when Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] claimed second from it. Pellet, fished to the far bank found carp to 7lbs and barbel to 4lbs for a total of 68-3-0. Last weeks Monday winner Tony Foster [PI Bold] and Ian Morris [Oakengates Ang Cent] had a peg to peg battle for third, with Tony just getting the place with 65-8-0 from peg 4 to Ian’s 64-15-0 from peg 5.

Andy Williams [Vespe] won for the second Wednesday running, and this time he did it with the top weight of the week, 151-10-0.Maggot and corn down the edge worked again for Andy, this time at peg 8 on the Sycamore, producing a mix of carp to 7lbs and barbel to 4lbs.

Paul Evans [PI Bold] was on the Chestnut Pool, where caster, worked close to the island from peg 27 had carp and bream coming to the net, with fish of 6lbs and 3lbs respectively returning 132-1-0. Over on peg 16 on the Chestnut, Dave Barnard [Rod & Gun] recorded 116-5-0 to take third, while 102-6-0 from Chestnut 32 put Matt Stobbs [Oak Ang Cent] into fourth.

Jordan Hall [Middy] was another angler to make two wins in two weeks when he won for the second Thursday on the trot. Peg 45 on the Sycamore came up with the goods this time when caster, alternated between fishing shallow and on the deck, tempted carp and barbel to 6lbs and 4lbs to give final figures of 117-9-0.

In the middle of the long bank at peg 36 Paul Evans picked up another second placing when he weighed in a level 89-0-0, made up with carp to 6lbs and bream to 3lbs. Matt Stobbs had another pick up, collecting third with 66-14-0 from peg 26, while last Saturdays winner Steve Hall [Oswestry] scaled 63-9-0 in fourth.

Chestnut peg 30 yielded 131-4-0 on Saturday to hand victory to Steve Owen [Monkhall]. Carp to 7lbs responded to his maggot and corn, fished in the side and shallow.       Dave Brown [Maver] had top weight from the Larch, 101-0-0 to claim second. Shallow caster produced carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs for Dave. Third man Simon Christian [Sedgeley] had his 94-9-0 from Chestnut 32 and at Chestnut 21 Steve Heitzman [PI Bold] had 84-8-0 for fourth.

Dave Brown moved up to first place on Sunday when Willows peg 13 came up with top weight again. Shallow caster resulted in 107-5-0 of carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs finding their way into the net.

Rob Baker [Kings] le3d the way on the Oak Pool to finish second overall. His 101-11-0 coming to caster and maggot at peg 16. Also on the Oak was third placed Morgan Davidson [Oak Ang Cent] whose 89-14-0 came from peg 18. Only 5 ounces off third was Kelvin Emlyn [OAC] on 89-9-0 at Willows peg 2.
