Boldings report

Boldings report    12-8-15.

Tony Foster [PI Boldings] left the rest standing in the Monday open at Boldings Pools when he recorded the best weight from the Oak Pool for some time. His 175-15-0 was more than double any other weight in the match, and fell to shallow pellet, which attracted carp to 5lbs at peg 13.

Dave Matson [Rod & Gun] finished second with the best weight from the Beech, 82-15-0. He caught on maggot and pellet close in, where carp to 5lbs and bream to 2lbs picked up the bait. Eric Bancroft [R&G] was third for the second Monday running, his 80-6-0 coming from Oak 27. Two pegs along from Eric, at peg 29 Dave Doughty [Woodend] was a close fourth on 79-10-0.

Maggot and corn down the side of Stock Pool peg 11 helped Andy Williams [Vespe] to top spot on Wednesday, bringing carp to 8lbs to the net for a winning total of 128-15-0.

Mick Jameson [PI Bold] headed the Hawthorn card to finish in second, his 105-9-0 of carp to 7lbs at peg 3, falling to pellet at 6 metres and down the side. Last weeks double winner Matt Stobbs [Oakengates Angling Centre] claimed third with 95-8-0 from Hawthorn 7 and a Middle Pool best of 92-9-0 gave Paul Evans [PI Bold] fourth.

Jordan Hall [Middy] improved on his runner up of last Thursday to fill first place this week. Varying his distance between 6 metres and 12 metres to offer caster kept him in touch with carp to 6lbs and barbel to 4lbs for final figures of 105-10-0 at Willows peg 7.

Peg 16 on the Chestnut yielded carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs for Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] who netted 92-12-0 using pellet at 5 metres and close in. Eric Bancroft had another third when he scaled 86-1-0 at Willows 13, and back on the Chestnut Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] had 82-15-0 in fourth.

Steve Hall [Oswestry] swapped second last Saturday at Willows peg 8 for first this week from the same peg. Pellet down the edge did the trick, with carp to 6 lbs making up a 109-10-0 winner.

Andy Kyte moved up two places to collect second this time, his 106-11-0 came to pellet at 12 metres and consisted of carp to 7lbs and barbel to 4lb at Willows peg 13. Third went to the best weight from the Larch, 100-8-0, by Dave Cook [Bronx] and in fourth was Sean Barber [Maver] on 91-4-0 at Willows 5.

Colin Wozek [Vespe] saved the best for last and finished off the week with a blast of action at Chestnut peg 21. Working pellet at 14 metres to fish the island, Colin was in contact with carp to 8 lbs and barbel to 4lbs from start to finish, when he handed 220-2-0 over to the scales.

Over on peg 10 Gareth Emlyn [Oak Ang Cent] had carp and bream on maggot, with samples to 9lbs and 3lbs adding up to 139-15-0. Eric Bancroft is in danger of becoming known as the Third Man as he notched up another third, this time though he can point to the fact that he top dog on the Sycamore with his 120-8-0 at peg 50. 105-2-0 from Chestnut 13 handed fourth to Dave Bowater [PI Bold].
