Boldings report

Boldings report    15-7-15.

Phil Shaw [PI Boldings] helped himself to a double top at Boldings Pools this week, starting with a winners purse on Monday, when his catch from peg 25 on the Larch outshone three weights from the Chestnut. Shallow pellet soon had Phil popping carp to 6lbs into his net as he put together 121-10-0.

Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] was the leader on the Chestnut, with almost half of his 114-3-0 consisting of bream to 2lbs, the rest being carp to 7lbs, which came to pellet, fished to each side of peg 36. Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] maintained his run of form with a third placed 107-4-0 at peg 13, with Colin Wozek [Vespe] not far behind on 99-12-0 at peg 4.

Things were slower on the Beech on Wednesday when 77-6-0 of carp and bream from peg 5 gave Shaw his second win of the week. Only one fish behind, on 71-8-0, was Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] at peg 20. He caught on corn, fished to the paddles and down the side. Mick Jameson [PI Bold] picked up third at peg 32 where he netted 60-3-0.

Last Saturdays winner Dave Brown [Maver] picked up a mid week top prize on Thursday and recorded the top weight of the week after he drew Oak peg 13. Working with shallow caster, Dave landed carp to 5lbs which gave figures of 154-3-0.

Phil Foster [PI Bold] was exactly 20lbs behind with his Sycamore top weight of 134-3-0, caught on pellet and corn at peg 36. Back on the Oak Jordan Hall [Matrix] finished third for the second Thursday running by scaling 104-1-0 at peg 8, and back on the Sycamore, 99-7-0 from peg 47 put Steve Hall [Oswestry] in fourth.

Saturday saw Harry Colley [PI Bold] back in winning mode. His 113-11-0 from Sycamore 45 being much too good for the rest. Harry presented meat and pellet to each side of the peg to make contact with carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs.

Josh Humphries [ABC] led a trio of close weights in the minor placings, his 65-7-0 coming from Sycamore 21 and falling to maggot and corn. Colin Reynolds framed again, adding a third to his earlier second by weighing 63-9-0 at peg 16. Steve Hall had another 4th when he scaled 61-0-0 at peg 6.

Shane Rogers [Oakengates Ang Cent] got the better of the rest on Sunday by topping a tight frame on the Sycamore. Maggot and corn, fished in the margins of peg 32 put carp to 8lbs and barbel to 3lbs on the scales for a total of 87-9-0.

Carp to 6lbs and bream to 3lbs came to the shallow pellet fish by Sean Barber [Maver] at peg 50, giving a return of 84-10-0. Just along the bank at peg 4 Harry Colley was close behind on 84-1-0 to add a third to his win, which left Andy Price [Oak Ang Cent] to finish things off with his 69-13-0.
