Boldings report

Boldings report    15-7-15.

The week at Boldings Pools opened with a victory for Dave Craggs [Maver] who topped an all ton frame on Monday from Willows peg 17, where shallow fished pellet had carp to 7lbs lining up to give a winning net of 130-7-0.

Phil Shaw [PI Boldings] emulated his second placing of last Monday by weighing 125-7-0 at Willows peg 4. Phil had a mix of carp to 7lbs and barbel to 4lbs, which he caught on pellet, fished shallow and at 4 metres. Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] was top man on the Chestnut Pool and third overall with 105-6-0 at peg 10, with fellow Rod & Gun man Dave Matson fourth from Willows 8 with 104-7-0.

After a couple of weeks out of the frame Colin Wozek [Matrix] found his winning touch again on Wednesday with an easy victory from Stock peg 3. Shallow pellet picked out carp to 6lbs which gave final figures of 141-15-0.

At Stock peg 11 Phil Shaw, who won last Wednesday, collected his second runner up prize of this week with another net of carp to 6lbs on pellet, but he was some way behind the winner on 87-12-0 at the whistle. In a close third place was Dave Olly [Leicester] whose 86-13-0 was a Middle Pool best score. Fourth also came from the Middle when Terry Holmer [Club 2000] scaled 63-14-0 at peg 8.

Top weight of the week went to Paul Evans [PI Bold] who moved up a place on Last Thursday to win this weeks Thursday match. Caster to each side of peg 23 on the Ash brought a mix of carp and barbel to the net, with samples to 6lbs and 2lbs returning 152-12-0.

At peg 7 on the Ash Tony Foster [PI Bold] operated with shallow pellet to net 122-3-0 of carp to 6lbs to finish second. Last Thursdays winner Jordan Hall [Matrix] had a Beech Pool best catch of 110-12-0 to collect third and an Oak best of 99-9-0 put Dave Brown [Maver] into fourth.

Fourth turned into first for Dave Brown on Saturday when shallow caster and pellet down the side banked 144-4-0 at Sycamore peg 21, with carp to 8lbs and barbel to 4lbs featuring.

Paul Wheeler [PI Bold] had all his fish at peg 8 on shallow pellet, with carp to 6lbs making up his second placed 107-14-0. There was a bit of a drop to third, with Mitch Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] finding his 68-5-0 at peg 27 was enough to put him in the list, and 54-14-0 gave fourth to Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] at peg 39.

The Willows Pool took a back seat to the Oak on Sunday, with the Oak giving the top three weights.

Dave Hailey [PI Bold] won from the point at peg 29 with a shallow pellet attack which filled his net with carp to 5lbs to the tune of 137-15-0.

Eric Bancroft was in the frame again, filling second spot this time. He found bigger fish than the winner, with carp to 8lbs, using shallow pellet alternated with paste down the side, but was left needing one more fish when the scales stopped at 131-1-0 at peg 31.

Gareth Emlyn [Oak Ang Cent] was up by the island at peg 22 where 125-2-0 gave him third ahead of a Willows top score of 97-4-0 by Dave Barnard [Stafford].
