Boldings report

Boldings report 3-6-14.

Willow Pool peg 19 threw up the winning catch for the second Monday running, providing Geoff Vallance [PI Delcac]        with a very useful 110-11-0. Carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs came on to maggot, fished shallow and down the side to give Geoff his winner.

Similar tactics to the winners were employed by Dave White [Maver] at peg 21 on the Sycamore, where carp to 8lbs with bream to 3lbs put in an appearance to give figures of 99-12-0. Back on the Willows, at peg 4, Mark Taylor [Shakespeare] claimed third with 92-13-0, edging out Mitch Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] on 91-10-0 at Sycamore 13.

Willows peg 4 came up trumps for Nathan Spain [Matrix Total Angling] on Wednesday. His shallow pellet approach put an all carp 100-8-0 in the net. Round at peg 9 Mick Jameson [PI Boldings] included barbel to 4lbs with carp to 6lbs in a total of 78-4-0, which he took on pellet at 6 metres and along the side. Third went to Josh Humphreys [ABC] on 66-3-0 at peg 17 and at peg 12 Harry Colley [PI Bold] had 64-1-0 in fourth.

Gareth Emlyn [Oak Ang Cent] offered maggot to each side of Sycamore peg 31 to win on Thursday with a mix of carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs totalling 107-6-0.

The rest of the frame weights came from the Oak, led by 77-10-0 from Matt Stobbs [Oak Ang Cent]. He had carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs on pellet at 5 metres at peg 11. Josh Humphreys finished third again, with virtually the same weight as the previous day, his 66-8-0 coming from Oak 29. Across at Oak 13 Pete Ricketts scaled 63-6-0 to finish fourth.

Saturday saw a dip in weights and 65-15-0 gave Tony Foster [PI Bold] victory at Willows peg 13. Pellet close in found carp to 6lbs for Tony. Rob Lloyd [Wolves] worked pellet and corn, shallow and down the edge at Chestnut peg 18 to net a mix of carp to 5lbs and bream to 2lbs to weigh in 57-13-0 for second. Mark Perkins [Matrix Dynamite Trent] was also on the Chestnut and had 53-14-0 from peg 26 for third. Back on the Willows Jack O’Sullivan [Oak Ang Cent] was close behind on 52-1-0 at peg 18.

Mark Taylor converted his Monday third to a Sunday first and had top weight of the week, 141-14-0, with a maggot attack at Hawthorn peg 3, which netted carp to 8lbs.

Gareth Emlyn added a second place to his mid week win. He had another maggot based catch, 114-6-0, which consisted of carp to 7lbs, at Hawthorn peg 1.

Mark Mountford [Shifnal] was best on the Oak and third overall with a level 111-0-0 from peg 22, and only 2 ounces behind him, with a Sycamore best of 110-14-0 was Kelvin Emlyn [Oak Ang Cent] at peg 23.
