BOLDINGS REPORT  30-4-14.

Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] was a double winner at Boldings Pools this week, collecting the main prize on the Monday and Saturday opens.

Mondays victory came from the Oak Pool when Harry drew peg 13 and decided on a pellet and maggot attack, feeding at 5 metres and down the edge. Carp to 7lbs and barbel to 2lbs homed in on the bait to give the top weight of the week, 103-7-0.

On the Willows Pool, at peg 5, Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] chose a pellet and maggot combination, feeding at 6 metres and close to the bank. Ghost carp moved in on his peg, with samples to 6lbs adding up to 87-9-0 to give Eric second place.

Back on the Oak, opposite the winner at peg 27, Richard Duke [BAS] finished a close third by scaling 84-12-0, with last Sundays winner Harry Colley [PI Boldings] claiming fourth at Willows peg 19 where he scaled 78-2-0.

The Ash Pool provided the top two weights on Wednesday, and it was a mix of carp to 7lbs with bream to 2lbs which put Ian Morris [Oakengates Ang Cent] at the top of the list. He was on peg 5 where he alternated pellet at 8metres with corn down the side to maintain his catch rate for a final return of 82-11-0.

Down at peg 23 Matt Stobbs [Oak Ang Cent] fished up in the water with pellet to net an all carp 73-13-0, made up with fish from 1lb to 4lbs.

Third and fourth came from the Beech where Paul Wheeler [PI Bold]just got the better of Phil Shaw [PI Bold] in a close battle.  Paul finished on 65-10-0 at peg 32 and at peg 16 Phil had 64-4-0.

Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] kept his run of victories going with a win on Thursday from peg 39 on the Sycamore. Carp to 8lbs joined bream to 3lbs in Andy’s net, having been tempted by maggot and corn, fished to each side of the peg. At the whistle they gave a total of 96-5-0 for a winning margin of 13lbs.

Runner up Dave Craggs [Maver Midlands] worked caster, close in and up in the water at peg 16 on the Oak, to end the day with 83-6-0 of carp to 6lbs.

Up by the island, at Oak 22 Ian Krull [Wolves] finished on 77-9-0 to pick up third ahead of Adam Slade [Sedgeley] on 66-4-0 at Sycamore 13.

Saturday saw Colin Reynolds complete his double from peg 48 on the Sycamore. This time he decided on a pellet and corn approach, offering pellet at 3 metres and corn down the side to fool carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs, to record another clear win by scaling 98-1-0.

Up at peg 24 Brian Preece [BAS] used shallow caster for a runner up 71-9-0 of carp to 8lbs, which put him well clear of Alan Naylor [Oak Ang Cent] on 56-3-0 at peg 40. Jamie Potts [Oak Ang Cent] completed the frame with 52-2-0 at peg 50.
