Second place was hotly contested between Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] and Andy Bishop [Ind] who were both pegged on the Middle Pool. Eric claimed the place by the narrowest of margins when the scales credited him with 48-12-0 at peg 8, while Andy saw the reading stop at 48-11-0 at peg 5.           Things slowed down a little on Thursday and 34-6-0 from Deepdale peg 12 handed victory to Mick Jameson [PI Bold]. His catch was made up with carp to 4lbs, which were caught on pellet at 6 metres.

Last Thursdays winner Terry Edwards [Kings] filled the runner up spot this time by taking the top catch from the Middle Pool, 31-14-0. Terry worked down the side and at 6 metres using maggot for bait at peg 11. Wolverhampton’s Steve Owen topped the Stock Pool carp with 31-12-0 from peg 7 to finish a close third and fourth also came from the Stock when Dave Doughty [Wombourne] weighed 28-3-0 at peg 3.

Keith Powell [PI Bold] framed for the second Saturday running, his 40-1-0 from peg 6 giving him third, ahead of Tony Foster, who made his second frame appearance of the week by scaling 32-13-0 at peg 45.

Weights were similar on Sunday but this time Sycamore peg 8 proved a winner in the hands of Andy Rumble [Maver]. Combining maggot and pellet at 10 metres and close in put 61-0-0 of carp to 6lbs in Andy’s net to secure the top prize of the day.

Colin Reynolds had another second, this time with an Oak Pool best weight. Carp to 5lbs and roach to 1lb made their way into Colin’s net after picking up his pellet bait, offered at 13 metres at Oak 13.

A chestnut weight of 47-5-0 from peg 21 put Steve Knowles [Ted Carter Tackle] into third and the top catch from the Willows, 45-0-0 from peg 9, saw Dave White [Maver] take home the fourth prize.
