Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  15-5-13.

Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes]  headed the Wednesday frame at Boldings Pools from peg 23 on the Ash Pool, after a bust match which saw him catch mostly carp in the 1lb to 3lbs range, with the odd bigger fish to boost his weight to 117-13-0. Pellet, fished close in did the trick for Bob.

At Ash 3 Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] kept his run of form going with a runner up 105-8-0, consisting of carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs, taken on corn and maggot, to each side of the peg. Stuart Aston [Swan] took third with the best catch on the Hawthorn, 86-12-0, which came from peg 13. At Ash 7 Terry Slater [Baggeridge] had 79-14-0 for fourth.

Rain and strong winds failed to put a damper on sport on the Oak Pool on Thursday and didn’t stop Andy Williams from recording another big win. He topped a full frame of 100lb weights with the top weight of the week, 120-2-0, taken on the same combination of corn and maggot he used the previous day, and again he had a mix of carp and bream, this time from Oak 21, at the back of the island.

At peg 31 Gary Morris [PI Boldings] fished to the tree roots and out at 5 metres with pellet to attract carp to 5lbs and barbel to 2lbs, for figures of 115-12-0, which gave him second. At peg 27 Brian Clarke [Colmic Marukyu] added to success of last week by scaling 109-3-0 and at peg 5 Harry Colley [PI Bold] completed the big four with 107-4-0.

Harry Colley moved to the top of the list on Saturday using a meat and pellet combination at peg 24 on the Sycamore to build a 92-0-0 winner, with carp to 8lbs.

Brothers Tony and Carl Foster [both PI Boldings] took the next two places, Tony claiming second with a Chestnut best of 70-12-0, consisting of carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs, caught on pellet at peg 4. Carl had his third placed 66-9-0 from peg 49 on the Sycamore, and at Chestnut 7 Howard Williams [Tricast Weston] netted 61-13-0 to finish fourth.

Colin Wozek [Matrix Total Angling] added another win to his list on Sunday, when the Willows Pool gave the top three catches, topped by 102-3-0 from Colin. He alternated fishing shallow with pellet in open water with presenting the same bait in the margins at peg 5 to keep in contact with carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs.

Round at peg 12 Steve Owen [PI Bold] also had carp and barbel in his runner up 84-3-0, which came to corn and pellet in the margins. Danny Boden [PI Bold] had his third placed 81-3-0 from Willows peg 8, and Howard Williams had another 4th with his Chestnut top score of 72-14-0.
