Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT 7/7/10.

Top scorer at Boldings last week, Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) repeated the feat this week with a similar weight, not far from where his previous top weight came from.

Having won with 167lbs from Ash peg 5 last time, Pete scaled 161-6-0 at Ash peg 9 on Wednesday. Pellet was the winning bait last week, this week Pete offered paste close in to find the fish.

Tony Foster (OB Wolves) put the Beech Pool in the frame with 114-0-0 for second, his catch coming to shallow pellet, alternated with corn in the side.

Mark Mountford (Shifnal) completed a ton up top three with 102-10-0 from Ash 5 and Kevin Melville (Dorset Pools) had 78-13-0 at Ash 14 in 4th.

Clive Wynn (Weston Tricast) led the way on Thursday with a carp and bream catch for 83-14-0 from peg 15 on the Chestnut. Clive caught on shallow pellet.

Runner up Ben Brisbourne (Weston Tricast) used pellet and corn close in at peg 33 on the Sycamore to scale 75-0-0 for second, Ed Turner (OBW) had 70-4-0 at Sycamore 42 for third and back on the Chestnut, Dave Barnard (Rod & Gun) grabbed 4th with 69-4-0 at peg 18.

Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) had 127-12-0 on Saturday, but was only 3lbs ahead of Pete Plant (Maver Midlands).

Andy took his catch of carp to 9lbs and bream to 3lbs on shallow fished pellet at peg 5 on the Sycamore. Pete was on Chestnut peg 36 and operated with his favourite shallow caster method to catch carp, bream and barbel for 124-10-0.

Last Saturdays winner, Steve Owen (Mid Leisure) could only claim third with his 111-10-0 from Sycamore 24, and Danny Boden (Telford) finished off the frame with another ‘ton’, 106-13-0 at Sycamore 8.

Things quietened down a bit on Sunday when the Oak Pool came up with a winner for Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) who scaled 85-13-0 at peg 24, to hold off Shane Rogers (OAC Sonubaits) who had a Sycamore top score of 81-7-0. Third placed Jason Elwell (Wednesfield) was top man on the Willows with 79-5-0 for third and Dave Barnard had another 4th by scaling 77-2-0 at Oak 16.
