Boldings report

Boldings report 29-10-14.

The Willows Pool provided the winning catch at Boldings Pools on Monday, ahead of three weights from the Chestnut.

Alun Jones [Tricast Weston] topped the card from Willows 16, where he offered corn and pellet at 16 metres to tempt carp to 6lbs and barbel to 4lbs, which added up to 105-4-0.

Leading the rest of the pack was Mitch Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] at Chestnut 35. He worked maggot and corn down the side for a mix of carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs scaling 97-15-0. At Chestnut 6 Mick Jameson [PI Boldings] put his name on third with 71-6-0 and at peg21 Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] had 66-2-0 in fourth.

Tony Foster exchanged second for first on Thursday when pellet at 4 metres and shallow worked well at Willows peg 13, giving a return of 83-15-0, which featured carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs.

Steve Roland also moved up the order to take second. He was on Oak peg 29, and worked maggot close in combined with pellet at 6 metres to net carp to 6lbs on his way to 75-11-0. On the end of the dam at Oak peg1 Rob Hancox [Kings] collected third with 59-13-0 and back on the Willows Dave Lloyd [Maver] had 56-8-0 for fourth at peg 19.

Paul Hemmings [Monkhall] clinched victory on Saturday on the Chestnut Pool with a maggot attack, fishing shallow and at 5 metres at peg 32. Carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs homed in on the bait to give a final tally of 81-2-0.

Along the bank at peg 36 Andy Price [Oak Ang Cent] combined maggot and corn to fish at 5 metres and close in to net carp to 6lbs which gave a total of 68-7-0. Coin Reynolds framed for the second time, his 65-6-0 from peg 7 putting him in third, ahead of Josh Humphreys [ABC] on 60-3-0 at peg 4.

The action moved to the Sycamore and Willows on Sunday, and the Sycamore gave the first three weights, led by Phil Taylor [Dams & Locks] who drew peg 34. Maggot and corn did the business for Phil, finding carp to 7lbs on the 5 metre line as well as close in. At the finish the net had slipped under a total of 69-3-0 to give Phil the win.

At peg 37 Jack O’Sullivan [Oak Ang Cent] found the fish running a bit smaller, with samples to 6lbs coming to his shallow pellet and close in corn baits at peg 37. The smaller run of fish left Jack short of the winner on 60-8-0. Round at corner peg 50 Dave Hailey [PI Bold] was only 10 ounces behind second on 59-14-0. Fourth went to Steve Roberts [Oak Ang Cent] who was top man on the Willows with 57-9-0 at peg 11.
