Boldings report

Boldings report 16-9-14.

The Monday open on the Chestnut Pool at Boldings saw a close finish, with less than a pound separating first and second places.

Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] was the man who edged top spot, his catch of carp to 7lbs with barbel to 2lbs giving him a return of 85-12-0. Pellet and corn at 5 metres, alternated with fishing down each side of the peg found the fish for Colin at peg 30.

Keith Powell [PI Boldings] fished to the island at peg 26, as well as close in to the bank, and had carp, with bream to 2lbs. His carp ran a bit smaller than Reynolds, with fish up to 6lbs, which left him just short on 84-15-0.

Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] was one decent fish behind on 80-8-0 in third, with Phil Shaw [PI Bold] scaling 73-7-0 in fourth.

Clive Wynn [Tricast Weston] and Josh Humphreys [ABC] couldn’t be separated by the scales on Wednesday, each finishing the match with 87-11-0. Clive was on Oak peg 22 responded to maggot and corn close in, to give a net of carp to 6lbs. Josh drew Beech peg 3 and used pellet and corn, close in and at 5 metres, for carp to 7lbs.

Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] was on Beech 16, where 70-13-0 put him into third, and just behind him was Mick Jameson [PI Bold] on 69-11-0 at Oak 13.

Mick Jameson jumped from fourth to first on Thursday, when he led a trio of PI Boldings rods in the frame. Offering pellet to each side of peg 8 on the Sycamore, Mick picked off carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs for final figures of 100-8-0.

At Sycamore 16 Graham Roberts worked pellet and corn at 5 metres and to each side of the peg to put together 91-7-0 of carp to 7lbs with bream to 3lbs to claim second. Keith Powell made his second frame placing of the week with a Willows Pool top score of 83-9-0. Fourth also came from the Willows, with Terry Edwards [Kings] picking up the place with his 82-3-0 from peg 20.

Andy Williams was back in the frame on Saturday, posting top weight of the week to take victory at Stock Pool peg 2. Maggot and corn in the margins gave an all carp 108-10-0, which was made up with fish to 5lbs.

Colin Reynolds added a second to his earlier win with a Beech Pool best of 83-11-0 of carp to 7lbs, caught on pellet and corn down the edge, and at 5 metres on peg 11. Over on Beech 20 Mark Taylor [Shakespeare] was a close third on 82-2-0 and Keith Powell made it three frames in the week with a fourth best 73-12-0 from Stock 7.
