BOLDINGS REPORT  2-10-13.

Colin Wozek [Matrix Total Angling] took over from Colin Reynolds as double winner at Boldings Pools this week, taking victory in the Monday and Wednesday opens.

Mondays win came on the Sycamore Pool after he drew point peg 13, and attracted carp to 8lbs with barbel to 3lbs with pellet feed, presented to each side of the point. At the finish there was a total of 80-11-0 waiting for the scalesman.

At peg 36, in the middle of the long bank, Tony Foster [PI Boldings] switched between the 4 metre line and down the side, using pellet and corn, to tempt carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs, which added up to 70-14-0 for second spot. Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] added a third place to his successes of recent weeks, by scaling 69-2-0 at peg 18. dave Matson [Rod & Gun] was on peg 2 where 63-2-0 gave him 4th.

The action switched to the Willows pool on Wednesday when Wozek went home with the main prize again. Shallow pellet in open water at peg 17 did the business for Colin this time, returning 103-10-0, which was made up with carp to 7lbs.

Down at peg 11 Mick Jameson [PI Bold] worked close in and at 4 metres with pellet to net a mix of carp and barbel, with samples to 5lbs and 3lbs, giving a level 93-0-0 or second. Graham Palmer [Fitters] finished a close third on 91-6-0 at peg 4, and next to the winner, on peg 16, Richard Duke [BAS] scaled 87-8-0 in 4th.

Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] claimed victory from peg 16 on the Chestnut Pool on Thursday, when his maggot and corn feed brought in carp and barbel to each side of his peg, with fish to 8lbs and 3lbs giving a total of 91-11-0.

Almost opposite the winner, at peg 32 Eric Bancroft [R&G] used pellet and corn to keep in touch with another mix of carp and barbel, but was left needing one more carp when the whistle sounded, as he finished on 86-15-0. Colin Reynolds had another third when he recorded an Oak Pool best of 75-9-0 at Oak 13, and fourth also came from the Oak, with Paul Evans [PI Bold] recording 72-8-0 at peg 11.

Weights climbed at the week-end again, with Nige Clark [Mosella] posting 123-12-0 for victory on Saturday, at Sycamore peg 47. Maggot and corn in the margins to each side of the peg resulted the netting of carp to 8lbs with barbel to 3lbs, which Nige used to build a tally of 123-2-0.

Colin Reynolds made the list for the third time, claiming the runner up prize here, thanks to 108-10-0 from Sycamore peg 30. He had bigger carp than the winner, with fish to 9lbs, which were accompanied by bream to 3lbs. At peg 50 on the same pool Ken Humphreys [ABC/Oswestry] fell 2 ounces short of the ton with 99-14-0 for third, while a Chestnut top weight of 84-12-0 gave Tony Foster his second frame placing of the week.

Top weight of the week came on Sunday again, with Maver rod Dave Brown grabbing the limelight from Sycamore 30. He worked hard for his 128-2-0, fishing shallow maggot to catch carp in the 2lbs to 4lbs bracket.

Sycamore 47 featured again, producing second for Dave Pritchard [PI Bold] who fished down the shelf with maggot to put together 116-10-0 with carp to 9lbs and barbel to 3lbs. At the next peg was the third Dave to make the frame, Dave Hailey [PI Bold] who ended the day on 108-14-0 at peg 48. Gareth Emlyn [Oakengates Angling Centre] completed an all ton top four with 106-2-0 from peg 13.
