BOLDINGS REPORT  6-11-12.

The Monday match at Boldings Pools featured some nice roach to around the pound mark being caught from the Larch Pool. Monday regular Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) included roach with carp to 6lbs in his winning 80-15-0, all taken on pellet at 5 metres from peg 7.

Runner up Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) also mixed carp and roach at peg 19, where he caught close in to each side of the peg using pellet, ending the day on a level 55-0-0.

There was a close run in for third and fourth between Phil Rhodes (PI Boldings) and Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) with Phil just getting the nod at peg 5, where he scaled 51-11-0. Mick was on peg 18 and finished 3 ounces behind on 51-8-0.

Gary Morris (PI Bold) top weighted on Wednesday, recording the weeks best of 104-7-0 at Beech peg 23. Carp to 5lbs homed in on pellet at 5 metres to give Gary a clear cut win.

Right opposite the winner, on point peg 7, Carl Foster (PI Bold) found slightly bigger fish, with samples to 6lbs coming from the 5 metre line, as well as close in, but there were less of them, leaving him on 70-12-0. At peg 20 Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) netted 63-14-0 to finish third, with Martin Travis (Matrix TA) 4th on 54-10-0 at peg 5.

On Thursday the Willows provided the winner, while Ash pegs filled the remaining frame places. The man on the Willows was Dave Craggs (Maver Midlands) who worked shallow pellet at peg 7 to net 64-3-0 of carp to 4lbs, and he needed every one of his fish as Dave Barnard (Rod & Gun) topped the Ash card with 59-9-0 to fill second spot. Dave had carp to 7lbs on pellet at 5 metres at peg 14. Two pegs away at 12, Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) dropped 55-10-0 on the scales for third, and a couple of pounds behind him, on 53-7-0 at peg 7 was Tony Foster (PI Bold).

Dave Craggs won again on Saturday, and the day gave an even closer finish, with only 9 ounces between him and the runner up. This time he was on Chestnut peg 16, and it was shallow pellet which did the trick again, bringing in carp to 6lbs for a total of 63-1-0.

Phil Rhodes followed up his third on Monday by filling second here, his 62-8-0 being a Larch best. Pellet at 6 metres and in the side found carp to 7lbs.

Back on the Chestnut Colin Reynolds made the frame again, picking up third with 47-12-0, 4lbs ahead of Harry Colley (PI Bold) on 43-4-0.

In the final open of the week the Oak Pool gave the top three weights led by 73-7-0 which was posted by Dave Brown (Maver Midlands). Fishing shallow pellet at point peg 29, Dave built his weight with carp to 5lbs.

On the opposite bank, at peg 16 John Wild (Stafford) mixed barbel to 2lbs with carp to 6lbs, which he took from the 4 metre and 6 metre lines on pellet, but he couldn’t quite match the winner, finishing on 65-10-0.

Dave Barnard made the list again, his 56-15-0 from the corner of the dam wall giving him third, while an Ash Pool top score of 55-15-0 handed 4th to Danny Boden (Oakengates Ang Cent).
