Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT  14-3-12.

 

 

Pegs on the Middle Pool at Boldings filled the first three places on the Monday open with the winners spoils going to Ian Hughes (Drennan NW) who had a net of carp in the 1lb to 4lb range for 48-8-0. The fish fell to pellet at 8 metres at peg 8.

          Mick Foan (Rod & Gun) fished close in and into the corner at peg 5 to pick up carp to 5lbs on his way to 38-0-0 and second place. Last weeks winner Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) was just under a pound behind on 37-1-0 at peg 1 and Ian Place (Ironbridge) had top weight on the Hawthorn, 24-6-0 to take 4th.

 

Beech peg 5 came up with the top catch on Wednesday when Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) had 59-8-0 on pellet and corn fished to the bottom of the shelf for carp to 6lbs.

          Bob Tromans (Fiery Holes) presented pellet at 8 metres at Ash peg 16 to pick off carp from 1lb to 4lbs to finish second on 52-8-0. Over on peg 9 Carl Foster (PI Boldings) netted 45-14-0 to collect third and at Beech 7 Keith Perrin (Tipton) was close behind on 44-3-0.

 

          Weights continued to rise as the week progressed and Tony Foster (PI Bold) scored the first of two wins when he scaled 89-8-0 at peg 30 on the Sycamore to win on Thursday. Pellet at 12 metres and in the margins put carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs into Tony’s net.

          Chris Hill (Maver) was on peg 30 on the Chestnut and had all his fish from the 11 metre line where carp to 5lbs and barbel to 2lbs gave figures of 66-7-0. In third at Chestnut 18 was Paul Evans (PI Bold) with a net weighing 52-7-0, and in a close 4th, on 52-3-0 was Andy Williams (Vespe) at Sycamore peg 1.

 

          Saturday saw the first 100lb bag of the Spring and it was Tony Foster’s second winner which took the accolade. This time he was the Chestnut, at peg 18, and fished pellet at 6 metres as well as down the side. Carp to 6lbs, bream to 3lbs and barbel to 2lbs all featured in a 102-11-0 total.

          Carp and barbel showed up at peg 48 on the Sycamore to give Mac Cox (Fiery Holes) 81-1-0 for second. Back on the Chestnut Ken Humphries (Oswestry) claimed third by weighing 77-12-0 at peg 14, and another Oswestry rod, Steve Hall took 4th with 76-0-0 from Chestnut 21.

 

          The top weight of the week came on Sunday and for the third week running it was Clive Wynn (Tricast Weston) who recorded it. He hammered out 121-11-0 from Sycamore peg 33, with carp to 7lbs responding to his pellet bait, fished at 12 metres and on the close in line.

          Jamie Langford (Maver) was in the corner at peg 30 and had carp to 4lbs on corn and pellet for 83-6-0 and second place.
