Boldings Report 30/9/08

 

          Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) notched up the top score at Boldings Pools for the second time this month when he took the honours on the Saturday open this week. Larch peg 24 was the scene of Colin’s victory this time, with corn and pellet doing the business for him. He alternated between 6 metres and close in to tempt carp to 9lbs, and had 107-10-0 in the net when the finishing whistle went.

          Chris Hill (Mosella) headed the Sycamore card with 89-3-0 from 34, where shallow fished pellet, alternated with corn in the side, brought carp to 8lbs to the net. On the opposite bank of the Sycamore John Francis (Rod & Gun) scaled 79-13-0 at peg 23 for third, and Kevin Melville (Dorset AC) had a Chestnut best of 71-14-0 for 4th.

 

          Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver) scored the first of two wins at Boldings on the Wednesday open when he took 78-9-0 of carp to 8lbs, fishing pellet, up in the water at peg 31.

          Alf Taylor OB Wolves) fished corn and pellet close in on point peg 8 to net 70-15-0 for second, Pete Plant (Maver) continued his for with a third placed 58=13=- at peg 25 and Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) completed the frame with 58-4-0 for a close up 4th.

 

          Dave Barnard (R&G) led the field on Thursday when he was based on Willows Pool peg 9, working corn and pellet at 5 metres and close in. carp to 6lbs and tench to 2lbs added up to a winning 70-14-0 for ‘Barney’.

          Over on the Beech John Wild (Stafford) offered corn and pellet close and at 5 metres at point peg 7, and included carp to 8lbs in his runner up 63-0-0. Mick Jameson made the frame again, taking third with 60-12-0 from peg 3 on the Beech. Then it was back to the Willows to Tony Foster (OBW) who was close behind on 59-7-0 at peg 5. Colin Reynolds warmed up for his Saturday win with an Ash pool best of 55-10-0.

 

          Andy Bayliss-Kyte finished the week as he started it, with a win, this time from the Chestnut. Pellet was the bait again, which Andy fished close in and at 5 metres, to find 59-11-0 of carp to 8lbs at peg 13.

          John Wild had another second, scaling 50-3-0 at Chestnut 38 to get ahead of John Cockayne (Maver) who had an Oak best of 46-15-0 to just beat Kelvin Emlyn (Oakengates Ang Cent) on 46-1-0.
