Boldings report

Sports Desk

Top rod at Boldings this week was Martin Davenport (Dorset AC) who was a comfortable winner of the Saturday open with 66-13-0. Martin drew peg 1 on the Oak, not one of the noted pegs, but proved you can win from almost any peg at the complex, by leaving the rest trailing behind his corn fed catch of carp to 5lbs.

Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) was round at peg 8 on the Oak and worked pellet at 5 metres and close in for 42-12-0 of carp from 1 to 3lbs to add a second spot to his two wins of last week. In the middle of the same bank, last Saturdays winner Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) picked up a third by scaling 36-10-0 at peg 13, and Matt Stobbs (Rod & Gun) framed again with 29-2-0 at peg 29 on the same pool.

On Sunday Dave White (Maver) was back to winning ways, having finished second last week. He netted a level 48lbs at peg 48 on the Sycamore. Maggot, fished at 13 metres attracted carp to 7 lbs, which put Dave just under 4lbs ahead of Tony Faulkener (OB Wolves). Tony was on peg 3 in the same bay as the winner, and offered pellet at 11 metres, to pick up carp to 8lbs on his way to 44-6-0.

Peg 13 on the Oak provided third again, this time for Dave Matson (R& G) who shaded third from Dave Brown (Wolves). Matson scaled 35-6-0 and Brown had 35-4-0 at Sycamore 16.

Mid week saw Mark Foster (OB Wolves) take the winners purse after drawing peg 36 on the Sycamore, and going out to 12 metres with pellet to find carp in the 1lb to 4lb range, which added up to 38-4-0. Pete Ricketts was in the cash again, and he too went to 12 metres with pellet, to top the Chestnut card with 33-9-0, which included carp to 6lbs.

Third placed John Lewis (Wolves) was also on the Chestnut, scaling 27-15-0 at peg 30. Then it was back to the Sycamore for 4th, which went to Howard Williams (Wrexham) on a level 25-0-0 at peg 8.
