Boldings report

Boldings report    10-6-15.

Owen Boswell [Shrewsbury] picked up another win at Boldings Pools this week, taking the honours in a closely fought Willows Pool battle. Owen was on peg 5 and put together his winning net of carp to 6lbs and barbel to 4lbs by offering pellet at 5 metres. When the scales had done their work, Owen had recorded 120-12-0, which put him one fish ahead of Phil Shaw [PI Boldings]. Phil was round at Willows peg 13 and worked shallow pellet to net an all carp 118-4-0, which was made up with samples to 6lbs.

Third also came from the Willows when Carl Foster [PI Bold] weighed 77-7-0 at peg 9, then it was over to the Acorn Pool where Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] had a pool best of 68-11-0 to fill fourth.

Phil Shaw stepped up a place on Wednesday to claim the winners purse from peg 16 on the Larch. Operating with shallow pellet again, Phil netted carp to 5lbs together with bream to 2lbs which gave figures of 95-6-0 for victory.

Terry Homer [Club 2000] used a mixture of pellet, corn and maggot baits to fish at 8 metres and close on peg 14, to find carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs totalling 81-7-0. A level 61-0-0 from peg 18 put Colin Wozek [Matrix] into third.

Jordan Hall [Maver] won his second successive Thursday open when he posted 100-14-0 at Sycamore peg 33 this week. Maggot at 12 metres and caster in the margins brought carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs to give Jordan his win.

Only one fish separated the top two again as Phil Rhodes [PI Bold] had a mix of carp and barbel for 97-3-0 at Sycamore 50, his catch coming to pellet and corn. Eric Bancroft had yet another pool best, picking up third this time with his 96-1-0 from Chestnut peg 1, and at Chestnut 21 Richard Duke [Middle Severn Angling] collected fourth with his 82-12-0.

Sycamore pegs yielded the top two weights again on Saturday when Andy Kyte [Mid Sev Ang] pulled clear of the field with a mixture of carp and barbel from peg 39. Pellet at 5 metres and down the edge found the fish for Andy, with samples to 9lbs and 3lbs respectively adding up to 115-14-0.

Paul Hemmings [Monkhall] fished to each side of the point at peg 13 with maggot to net 87-4-0 of carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs. Third came from the Chestnut when Tony Foster [PI Bold] scaled 72-7-0 at peg 32, and back on the Sycamore Simon Christian [Sedgeley] had a level 70-0-0 in fourth.

Pellet was top bait again on Sunday and working the bait shallow at Willows peg 12 helped Dave Hailey [PI Bold] to top weight of the week, an all carp 130-5-0, which consisted of fish to 6lbs.

Sean Barber [Maver] had to switch between the 8 metre and 13 metre line at peg 5 to keep his fish, carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs, coming to the net, but at the finish he had fallen behind and finished on 112-7-0. Clive Wynn [Tricast Weston] was s close third on 110-7-0 at peg 19, and at peg 17 Shane Rogers [Oakengates Ang Cent] completed the week with 95-12-0.
