Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  11-6-13.

Carl Foster [PI Boldings] decided on a bread approach when he drew peg 23 on the Chestnut Pools at Boldings on Monday. Fishing to the island with the bait resulted in carp to 6lbs together with bream to 2lbs coming to the net for a level 93-0-0, and a victory for Carl.

Round at peg 4 Godfrey Wood [Total Angling] presented pellet and corn close in to contact carp to 7lbs, and pushed the winner all the way to the finish, when he weighed 90-9-0. Island pegs gave the next two weights, with Ian Hughes [Drennan NW] just nicking 3rd from Colin Wozek [Matrix TA]. Ian had 75-15-0 from peg 28 leaving Colin 10ounces short on 75-5-0 at peg 26.

Phil Shaw [Lower Hill] streaked ahead of the field on the Larch Pool on Wednesday with a close in catch from peg 28. A steady feed of maggot had carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs lining up to snap up the bait, giving a total of 134-5-0.

The nearest anyone else got to Phil’s weight was 71-5-0 which Alan Jordan [Wolves] recorded at peg 1. Alan had fish in the 1lb to 4lb bracket on shallow fished maggot. Richard Duke [BAS] claimed 3rd by scaling 63-10-0 at peg 21, and Rob Hancox [Shortheath Starlets] took 4th with 61-3-0 at peg 14.

Peg 13 on the Sycamore produced the winner on Thursday, with the Larch giving the rest of the frame weights. Mick Jameson [PI Bold] was the man on the Sycamore, and fished maggot to each side of the point to find carp to 7lbs on his way to 70-7-0.

Best on the Chestnut was Terry Edwards [Kings] at peg 21 where 68-8-0 of carp to 5lbs and bream to 2lbs fell to pellet, fished to the island. Third went to Paul Evans [PI Bold] at peg 35 where he netted 61-12-0, and Richard Duke made the frame again by landing 53-12-0 from peg 13.

Sunday saw another runaway winner, this time in the form of Dave Hailey [PI Bold]. He was on Oak peg 16 and more than doubled the runner up weight, with a constant supply of carp to 5lbs on shallow pellet, which added up to 155-6-0.

On the opposite bank of the Oak, at peg 27 Scott Doodson [Preston Innov] fished to the stumps, and shallow with maggot, for a mix of carp and barbel weighing 75-3-0, which put him into second. Phil Taylor [Dams & Locks] topped the Sycamore with 69-8-0 from peg 8 to finish third, ahead of Mark Taylor [Shakespeare] on 63-5-0 at Sycamore 27.
