Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT  5-2-13.

 

          First winner of the week at Boldings was Keith Powell [PI Boldings]  who claimed top spot on Monday with bag of carp weighing 38-10-0 from the Middle Pool. Keith was on peg 1 and fished maggot to the paddles to net carp to 5lbs.

          Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] also caught on maggot on the Deepdale, finding carp to 5lbs and bream to 2lbs at 4 metres and 8 metres at peg 12 to finish second on 28-2-0. Middle peg 10 provided Mick Jameson [Mid Leisure] with a close third weight of 27-15-0 and at peg 8 Chris Holmes [Middle Severn Angling] had 24-15-0 in 4th.

 

          The honours were shared by the Stock and Hawthorn pools on Wednesday when Stephan Davies [Tricast Weston] made the Stock the winner after he drew peg 10 on the pool. and presented bread punch at mid water to attract carp to 4lbs for a total of 44-1-0.

          Stuart Aston [Swan JT] fished pellet at 10 metres from peg 3 on the Hawthorn to net carp to 5lbs on his way to a runner up 35-5-0. Third placed Pete Moss [R&G] scaled 27-10-0 at Hawthorn 14 and back on the Stock, Colin Wozak (Matrix Total Angling] had 24-13-0 for 4th.

 

          Gary Morris [PI Bold] took on the winners mantle on Thursday for another of his regular wins of late. Peg 7 on the Chestnut was the scene of his latest success, which came courtesy of a mix of carp to 4lbs with bream of 2lbs totaling 36-7-0. The catch fell to pellet and maggot fished at 12 metres.

          Carp to 4lbs made up the catch of runner up Terry Edwards [Kings] at peg 28. He presented pellet at 6 metres and 14 metres to finish with 29-1-0. Mick Jameson picked up another third by weighing 24-2-0 at peg 38, and exactly a pound behind him was Howard Williams [Tricast Weston] on 23-2-0 at peg 21.

 

           Tony Foster [PI Bold] recorded the top weight of the week in winning the Saturday open on the Sycamore. Sticking to the inside line, Tony fed maggot to bring in carp from 1lb to 5lbs to build his winning catch of 54-4-0 at peg 21.

          Kevin Melville [MTA] had carp and barbel at peg 6 with samples to 6lbs and 3lbs respectively, adding up to 51-7-0. Kev caught on pellet and maggot, close in and at 14 metres. In a close  third place, at peg 46, was Steve Hall [Oswestry] with a weight of 50-11-0 and only 6ozs behind him came Mitch Davidson {Maver Gold] on 50-5-0 at peg 50.

 

          Dave Barnard [R&G] drew the next peg to the Saturday winner when he pulled Sycamore 22 from the bag on Sunday, and he was only a pound behind the weeks best in winning with 53-3-0. Fishing through the deluge which caused flooding on some of the pools, Dave had his fish, carp to 5lbs and bream to 2lbs, fishing pellet at five metres, alternated with close in tactics.

          Peg 48 on the Sycamore was in the frame again when Mark Taylor [Shakespeare] took second from it. Mark fished maggot, close in and at 14 metres for a net of carp to 4lbs and barbel to 2lbs weighing 48-11-0.
