Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  5-9-12.

Harry Colley (PI Boldings) had a Sycamore success at Boldings Pools on Wednesday with carp to 9lbs and bream to 2lbs giving a 76-10-0 top weight on the day. Harry was drawn on peg 18 and tempted his fish with pellet and meat, presented close to the bank.

Last weeks winner Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) picked up second, having worked with shallow pellet at peg 21. He found carp to 5lbs for 61-5-0.

At peg 24 Bob Tromans (Fiery Holes) scaled 55-1-0 to fill third spot and Ken Humphries (Oswestry) had 52-5-0 for 4th at peg 36.

On Thursday Dave Craggs (Maver Midlands) posted the top weight of the week after he drew point peg 7 on the Beech. Carp to double figures homed in on his pellet and corn, offered in the margins, to give a final return of 146-3-0.

Sycamore peg 21 provided second place again, this time for Phil Rhodes (Mid Leisure) who alternated close in with fishing at 5 metres, with pellet and corn. Carp and barbel added up to 96-4-0 for Phil.

Northamptonshire visitor Rob Chamberlain (Corby) collected third prize thanks to 94-12-0 from Sycamore 4, and fourth went to an Oak Pool top weight of 81-6-0 by John Wild Stafford).

Saturday honours were claimed by John Francis (Rod & Gun) at point peg 13 on the Sycamore. Fishing pellet at 5 metres off the point and close in to each side, John contacted carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs, to ease clear of the rest, ending the match on 113-9-0.

Jason Elwell (Phil’s Tackle) was top man on the Willows Pool and second overall with a level 81-0-0, which came to close in corn and pellet from peg 5, and consisted of carp to 5lbs with bream to 2lbs.

Opposite Jason at peg 17, Pete Plant (Maver) scaled 77-8-0 to grab third ahead of Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) whose 74-9-0 came from Sycamore 18.

Pete Plant added a maximum 6 Preston points to the 4 he picked up on Saturday when he topped the frame on Sunday. Operating with his favourite shallow caster tactics at Chestnut 15, Pete had a lot of carp up to 4lbs and barbel to 2lbs in a net of 105-14-0.

Dave Craggs had another pick up, adding a second to his mid week win by recording a Larch best of 75-9-0, taken on shallow pellet and 14 metre pole at peg 4. John Wild also framed again, and had another pool best by weighing 70-9-0 at Willows peg 5, which left Graham Palmer (Ind) to finish off the weeks frames with 66-10-0 from Chestnut 34.
