Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT  2/2/11.

 

          Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) moved up from 4th on Monday at Boldings last week to first this Monday, when a modest 23-5-0 from Hawthorn peg 3 was enough to secure the winners purse.

          On the opposite bank Pete Ricketts ((New Willenhall) netted 19-8-0 at peg 13 for second, and a Stock Pool top catch of 15-3-0 from peg 11 gave Kevin Melville (MTA) 3rd.

 

          Pete Ricketts moved up a place on Wednesday when the Larch Pool was used and Pete drew peg 24 and maggot fished at 5 metres and 10 metres put a winning 41-13-0 on the scales.

          Harry Colley (OB Wolves) employed the same tactics at peg 14 for his runner up 38-0-0, and last weeks winner Brian Clarke (Maver)had 33-14-0 for third this time out.

 

          Ken Humphries (ABC) put in some successful practice ahead of the Winter League, winning the Thursday open in style by doubling the runner up weight. Drawn peg 3 on  the Deepdale, Ken worked pellet at 12 metres for carp and skimmers to 2lbs to end the day  on 50-9-0.

          Andy Williams (Vespe) was on corner peg 14 on the Deepdale where maggot in the side and at 10 metres put carp to 4lbs and a few skimmers in the net for 25-14-0.

          Tony Foster (OBW) was top man on the Middle Pool and third overall with 24-12-0 from peg 11 and at Middle 3 Russ Allen (Oswestry) weighed 23-0-0 for 4th.

 

          Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonubaits) headed the frame on Saturday with a punched bread based 47-6-0 from ‘island’ peg 9 on the Hawthorn. Fishing to the island, Andy picked up carp to 5lbs on his way to top spot.

          Shane Rogers (OAC) fished maggot at 5 metres and 10 metres at Hawthorn 3 to put 39-8-0 of carp in the 1lb to 3lb bracket on the scales for 39-8-0 to claim second. Dave Matson (R&G) netted a Larch best of 35-4-0 for third and 28-2-0 gave Richard Lawson (Maver) 4th.

 

          Correy Sephton (Bilston Ang Cent) registered  a clear win on Saturday with the top weight of the week, 60-13-0. Carp to 6lbs made up the catch, which was taken on maggot at 12 metres from peg 48 on the Sycamore.

          Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) alternated 5 metres and 12 metres with pellet and maggot at Sycamore 6 to find carp to 4lbs together with skimmers, to finish second on 35-2-0. Next to Mick, Derek Causer (OBW) had 27-13-0 for third at peg 4 and on Sycamore 8 Glen Brown (OAC) had 26-13-0 in 4th.
