Boldings report

Boldings Report 27/10/09

Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) Improved on his second place on the Monday open at Boldings last week to add another win to his list, having won last Thursday.

The Oak Pool proved to slower than usual and Eric won with 36-2-0, which he took on shallow fished pellet at peg 27, with carp from 1lb to 3lbs making up the catch.

Up at the corner of the dam wall at peg 1 Chris Holmes (Bridgnorth AS) had carp to 5lbs on pellet at 5 metres and in the margins for his second placed 32-4-0, which was closely followed by 31-0-0 from Phil Shaw (Lower Hill) at peg 31, and he had Mick Williams (Telford) hard on his heels with 30-8-0 at peg 13.

Gary Morris (OB Wolves) fed corn at 5 metres and 8 metres at peg 16 on the Beech on Wednesday to attract carp to 7lbs, which helped him to put together a 78-5-0 net, which was too good for last weeks Wednesday winner Ralph Johnson (Bilston Ang Cent). Ralph was on Ash peg 17 where he worked pellet up in the water and on the deck at 14 metres for 62-4-0 of carp to 5lbs.

Bob Tromans (Fiery Holes) had 52-6-0 from peg 12 on the Ash for third, and Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) had a level 48-0-0 at beech 26 to pick up 4th.

Howard Williams (Weston Pools) made the move from 4th last Thursday to first this week when peg 6 on the Chestnut provided him with 60-3-0 of carp to 7lbs. Howard fished pellet to the margins at each side of the peg, and into open water at 8 metres to keep the fish coming to the net.

Gary Morris was in the frame again, finishing second this time with a mix of carp to 6lbs and bream to 3lbs, caught on pellet at peg 13 on the Sycamore. Third went to John Wild (Stafford) when he scaled 46-6-0 at Chestnut 32, and at Chestnut 16, Graham Roberts (OBW) had 36-13-0 for 4th.

The Monday winner from last week, Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent) shared first on Saturday this week with Neil Turner (Wolves) when they each posted a weight of 83-8-0. Both were on the Stock Pool, Colin at peg 7, where he caught carp to 7lbs, close in on corn, and Neil was on peg 10, where he operated with caster, fished shallow, and close in for fish of a similar stamp.

Daren Painter (Baggeridge) was also on the Stock, netting a level 79-0-0 for third, while an Ash Pool best of 76-4-0 gave Dave Brown (Maver) 4th.

Gareth Emlyn (Oakengates Ang Cent) claimed his second successive Sunday win at Boldings, and it was maggot, fished in the side that did the trick again. This time Gareth was on the Ash Pool, and found carp to 6lbs to build a 72-7-0 winner.

Dave Barnard (R&G) headed the Sycamore card to take second, using pellet at 5 metres to net an even 60-0-0 at peg 36.

Mick Jameson was in the frame again, putting a Willows best of 57-4-0 on the scales for third, with Rob Cooksey (Maver) collecting 4th with 53-8-0 from Ash peg
