Boldings report

 

 

BOLDINGS REPORT 15/9/10.

 

          Boldings record holder Carl Foster (OB Wolves) was back on the winning track this week, taking the honours on the Wednesday open on the Chestnut Pool. Pegged on 21, Carl worked paste and pellet to each side of the peg find carp to 8lbs for a total of 86-10-0, which put him over 26lbs clear of Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure). He was on peg 14, where pellet at 3 metres put carp to 7lbs and bream to 2lbs in the net for a level 59-0-0.

          Jeff Harston (Weston Pools) picked up a third by scaling 46-1-0 at peg 17, and on the opposite bank Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) had 41-3-0 in 4th.

 

          After recording three frame placings last week Eric Bancroft (Rod & Gun) put his name on the winners envelope on Thursday in a close finish with Colin Reynolds (Bilston Ang Cent).

Eric drew peg 47 on the Sycamore and came close to a ton with 99-3-0 of carp to 8lbs on pellet. Up at peg 33 Colin had fish of a similar stamp on the same bait and was just 3lbs short on 96-3-0 at the finish.

Andy Williams (Vespe) was the only ‘framer’ on the Chestnut, finished third with 81-0-0 from peg 4, and back on the Sycamore Tony Foster (OBW) was one ounce behind Andy on 80-15-0.

 

 

          Matt Stobbs (Oakengates Ang Cent) found his winning touch on Saturday to head a tight frame in which only 6lbs separated first and fourth.

          Sycamore peg 33 featured again, producing the winner for Matt after his maggot and corn approach put 84-12-0 on the scales. Carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs made up the catch, which came from the 5 metre line and close in.

          Runner up Harry Colley (OBW) was on peg 9 on the Willow Pool where meat and pellet, worked in close accounted for ghosties in the 4lb range for a tally of 82-8-0. Gareth Emlyn (Oak Ang Cent) was also on the Willows and was only a pound and a half behind second when he scaled 81-4-0 at peg 5.

          Back on the Sycamore John Francis Rod & Gun) completed the top four with 78-11-0 at peg 21.

 

          Oakengates Angling Centre rods filled the top three places on Sunday, led by Centre boss Gareth Emlyn, who made the move up from third on Saturday to record the top weight of the week, 133-13-0. Carp to 9lbs and barbel to 1lb responded to his maggot and corn, offered to each side of peg 13 on the Sycamore.

          Last weeks double winner Shane Rogers was over to the left of the winner at peg 24 and fished to each side of the peg with paste and pellet to tempt carp to 8lbs for a 97-10-0 total.
