Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  10-9-13.

There were two wins in the week at Boldings Pools for Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] the first of which came at the start of the week on the Monday open.

Presenting pellet at 5 metres and into the corner at peg 5 on the Middle Pool, saw Colin netting carp to 6lbs as he put together a winning 87-6-0.

Josh Humphreys [ABC] has been a frame fixture this summer and picked up second in this match with a Deepdale top weight of 76-13-0, which fell to pellet, fished to the aerator and at 10 metres at peg 14. Mick Jameson [PI Boldings] claimed third at Middle peg 11 where he scaled 68-13-0, and tight behind him, on 68-4-0 was Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] at Deepdale peg 12.

Colin Reynolds completed his double on the Wednesday open, when his match winner was the only frame weight to come from the Chestnut Pool. Corn and pellet found 105-1-0 for victory at peg 16.

On the Sycamore, Keith Miller [ New Willenhall] led the catches with his runner up 76-15-0 from peg 33, Phil Shaw [Lower Hill] was close behind on 74-5-0 at peg 39 and Colin Wozek [Matrix TA] took 4th with 69-10-0 from corner peg 50.

Steve Roberts [Oakengates Ang Cent] took on the winners role on Thursday, fishing maggot and corn to each side of Sycamore peg 8 to pick off carp to 8lbs and bream to 2lbs for a 100-13-0 net.

Gareth Emlyn [Oak Ang cent] worked maggot and pellet at corner peg 6 for a mix of carp to 8lbs and barbel to 3lbs, which added up to 75-8-0.

Eric Bancroft made the list again, his 67-8-0 from peg 42 giving him third, just ahead of Mick Jameson, who collected for the second time thanks to 66-6-0 from peg 50.

Shallow pellet and caster put Les Thompson [Matrix] in charge on Saturday, giving him a 20lbs advantage over the rest. Carp to 5lbs came to the bait at peg 20 on the Ash, giving a final tally of 97-10-0.

Colin Wozek moved up the list to add a second to his fourth place in the week. He was top man on the Beech when he put 77-13-0 of carp to 3lbs on the scales at peg 16.

Also on the Beech was third man Andy Kyte [Maver Sonubaits] who had 70-19-0 at peg 11. Back on the Ash Dave Matson [Rod & Gun] scaled 62-14-0  for 4th at peg 14.

Weights soared on Sunday, with the Chestnut and the Oak giving big weights. The Chestnut came out top, yielding a 153-7-0 winner for Dave Hailey [PI Bold] at peg 30. Shallow pellet was the bait which triggered the feeding frenzy for Dave, with carp to 7lbs snapping up his offerings.

Just round at peg 32 Phil Taylor [Dams & Locks] alternated shallow pellet with close in fishing, and pushed the winner all the way to the whistle with carp to 8lbs, but fell one fish short at the end, finishing on 149-1-0.

Andy Kyte had another third and recorded the top weight of the day on the Oak Pool, 131-5-0 at peg 31. The Oak also gave fourth and another placing for Gareth Emlyn when he weighed in 119-5-0 at peg 13.
