BOLDINGS REPORT
There was a week-end double top for caster master Pete Plant [Maver Midlands] at Boldings Pools with victory on both Saturday and Sunday. Before that Matt Stockton [Maver] had a clear win on the Monday open, posting 123-7-0 using shallow pellet at Sycamore peg 6.
Rob Brennan [Wolves] alternated shallow pellet with close in fishing at peg 48 to take a mix of carp and barbel weighing 93-14-0 which put him into second place.
Third was closely contested by Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] and Harry Colley [PI Boldings] with Bob just coming out on top with 74-10-0 at peg 45 while Harry had 74-4-0 at peg 27.
Just over a pound separated first and second on the Chestnut on Wednesday, with Phil Shaw [Lower Hill] just getting the better of Tony Foster [PI Bold]. Phil fished pellet, up in the water and down the side at peg 30 for carp to 8lbs and bream to 2lbs to total 109-3-0, while Tony fished shallow to the island and at 5 metres for an all carp 108-0-0.
Josh Humphreys [ABC] picked up third thanks to 89-13-0 from peg 3, and at peg 36 fourth went to 81-10-0 by Mick Jameson [PI Bold].
Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] claimed the coin on Thursday after he drew peg 38 on the Chestnut and operated with corn and pellet to each side of the peg to contact carp to 9lbs, which added up to a match winning 114-9-0.
Keith Powell [PI Bold] wasn’t far behind at peg 26 where a pellet and meat combination put a level 111-0-0 of carp and bream on the scales. Josh Humphreys picked up another third by scaling 86-2-0 at peg 32, just beating the 83-10-0 from Brian Clark [Colmic Marukyu] at peg 15.
The first of the Pete Plant victories came from the Willows Pool on Saturday when his ‘shells’ attracted 101-3-0 of carp to 6lbs at peg 5.
Fellow Maver rod Sean Barber was on the opposite bank at peg 19, and he also fished up in the water, but with pellet to net 92-14-0 of carp to 6lbs. At peg 11 Terry Slater [Baggeridge] was some way back in third on 47-8-0. Harry Colley had another 4th when he posted a Sycamore best of 47-1-0 at peg 16.
Plant was on Ash peg 18 on Sunday and found carp to 8lbs with his caster offerings to edge out Gareth Emlyn at peg 14. Pete finished the day on 107-6-0, while Gareth, who fished maggot and pellet close in for carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs, saw the scales stop at 106-7-0.
Colin Reynolds was in the mix again, and so was Sycamore peg 16, yielding 85-2-0 to give Colin third ahead of Clive Wynn [Tricast Weston] on 83-11-0 at Sycamore 30.
