BOLDINGS REPORT  24-9-13.

 

Colin Reynolds [Bilston Angling Centre] is on fire at Boldings Pools at present, adding two more victories this week to the three he enjoyed last week and the two in the week before that.  

          He scored his third successive Monday win to begin another profitable spell when he drew peg 8 on the Oak and made it three different pools that he won from in three Mondays. Sticking with his trusty pellet and corn combination, Colin picked off carp from 1lb to 4lbs in putting together a 69-9-0 winning total.

          Up by the island at Oak 22 Dave Matson [Rod & Gun] fed pellet and corn on the inside line to finish one fish short of victory when he put a net of carp to 5lbs on the scales for 67-7-0. On the point at Oak 29 Harry Colley [PI Boldings] was close behind on 66-5-0 and at peg 16 Mick Jameson [PI Bold] had 63-14-0 to finish off a tight frame.

 

          Colin Wozek [Matrix Total Angling] is another man in form and he entered another win in his portfolio on Wednesday. Shallow pellet brought in carp to 5lbs at peg 7 on the Hawthorn Pool for Colin to edge 2lbs ahead with a final figure of 72-12-0.

          At peg 13 on the same pool Tony Foster [PI Bold] had carp in the 1lb to 4lbs bracket on pellet and corn, fished at 4 metres and down the side. When the whistle went he had 70-12-0 in his net. Mick Jameson was there again, picking up third this time when he weighed in 54-6-0 at Hawthorn 1, and a Middle Pool top weight of 45-5-0 handed 4^th to Ken Humphreys [ABC/Oswestry].

 

          Reynolds was back at the top on Thursday, winning from the Chestnut this time, with a mix of carp to 8lbs and bream to 2lbs from peg 21. The fish fell to pellet, presented in turn at 4 metres and close in, to put an aggregate of 111-2-0 on the weigh sheet.

          It was a close match again, and less than two pounds adrift in second was Terry Edwards [Swan Elite] at Chestnut 18. He caught on maggot and corn, offered on the inside line, to tempt carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs for a final tally of 109-7-0.

          Third came from the Sycamore when Paul Evans [PI Bold] scaled 102-5-0 at peg 46, and back on the chestnut Josh Humphreys [ABC] followed with 90-14-0 for 4^th.

 

          Harry Colley stepped up from third on Monday to first on Saturday, claiming the place from corner peg 50 on the Sycamore, shallow pellet, alternated with a close in approach found carp to 8lbs for the days best weight, 109-1-0.

          At peg 13 Steve Roberts [Oakengates Ang Cent] worked maggot and corn to each side of the point to net a mix of carp and barbel for 96-5-0. On top of his two wins Colin Reynolds also had a third on this match when he weighed 72-3-0 at peg 47 and next door to him Steve Owen [Wolves] had 69-14-0 in 4^th.

 

          Clive Wynn [Tricast Weston] snatched top weight of the week in winning the Sunday open from peg 7 on the Beech. Combining shallow pellet in open water with offering the same bait to each side of the point netted 115-5-0 of carp to 9lbs and bream to 2lbs.

          Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] mixed maggot and corn at 5metres and close in tactics at peg 5 on the Willows for his second placed 105-11-0 of carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs.

BOLDINGS REPORT  18-9-13.

 

          Colin Reynolds [Bilston Angling Centre] had an excellent week at Boldings Pools with three wins and the top weight of the week, to add to his winning double of last week.

          His triple started on the Monday open, on the Chestnut, when his 127-2-0 was the weeks best catch. He was drawn on peg 23 which responded to pellet at 5 metres and in the edge, with carp to 9lbs and barbel to 2lbs homing in on the bait.

          Harry Colley [PI Boldings] fished pellet and meat at peg 18 to tempt carp to 8lbs and bream to 2lbs from the close in line for a total of 113-7-0. At peg 21 Josh Humphreys [ABC] netted a level 92-0-0 for third, leaving Mick Jameson [PI Bold] to pick up 4^th with 87-15-0 at peg 9.

 

          Josh Humphreys moved up to third on Wednesday when the Oak was in slower mood than normal, giving Josh victory with 62-1-0. Pellet at 6 metres and close in found carp to 7lbs at peg 18..

          Phil Shaw [Lower Hill] finished just under 10lbs behind at peg 16, with a net of carp to 5lbs on shallow pellet which gave a total of 52-9-0. Mick Jameson made the list again, his 52-4-0 from peg 22 giving him a close third, ahead of Stuart Aston [Swan] on 47-14-0 at peg 8.

 

          Weights bounced back on Thursday when the match was back on the Chestnut, and Colin Reynolds was back at the top of the card. He was on peg 38 this time and worked corn and pellet to each side to net 121-15-0 of carp to 9lbs.

          Tony Foster [PI Bold] had carp and barbel at peg 15, with some coming to shallow pellet and some from down the side, with samples to 8lbs and 2lbs adding up to 100-7-0. Over on peg 30 Paul Evans [PI Bold] filled third spot with 90-13-0 and hard on his heels with 90-4-0 was Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe].

 

          Reynolds completed his hat trick from the Ash Pool on Saturday when corn and pellet did the trick again. Carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs came from the close in line to give a return of 80-10-0.

          Second placed Steve Owen [Wolves] was at peg 23 on the Beech, where carp to 7lbs joined bream to 2lbs in the net for an aggregate of 74-8-0. Steve also caught on pellet and corn, fished at 6 metres and close in.

          At Ash peg 7 Richard Duke [BAS] was a close third with 73-11-0 and at Ash 16 Mick Jameson scaled 62-13-0 for his third frame appearance.

 

          Ken Humphreys [ABC] put his name on the Nick Gretton Memorial trophy on Sunday by alternating pellet at 5metres with maggot in the margins at peg 28 on the Chestnut. Carp to 7lbs and barbel to 2lbs obliged to give a final tally of 122-14-0 for victory.

          On the Oak Pool, Gareth Emlyn [Oakengates Angling Centre] used similar tactics to net carp to 6lbs on his way to claim second with 114-12-0 at peg 29.
