Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  13-11-12.

Colin Wozak [Matrix Total Angling] found his winning ways again on a frosty Monday at Boldings Pools, taking a 10lbs advantage with 64-15-0 from Larch peg 25. Carp in the 1lb to 4lb range made up the catch, which fell to pellet, fished at 13 metres.

Runner up Phil Shaw [Lower Hill] was on the Chestnut and fished pellet at 6 metres from peg 30 to net 54-7-0, consisting of carp to 6lbs. Corner peg 1 on the Larch gave Phil Rhodes [PI Boldings] a level 54-0-0 for a close third, and back on the Chestnut, Harry Colley [PI Bold] had 50-7-0 at peg 16.

Martin Harrell [Maver Midlands] had exactly 100lbs for top weight of the week when he won the Wednesday match. Pegged on the point at peg 8 on the Sycamore, Martin alternated between 6 metres and 13, offering pellet and maggot to take his all carp catch, which was made up with fish to 4lbs.

Colin Wozak was in the prizes again, claiming second with a Willows best of 76-8-0, caught on shallow pellet at peg 16, and featuring fish to 6lbs. Next to Colin at Willows 17, Pete Ricketts [New Willenhall] scaled 61-0-0 in third and at Sycamore 4 Phil Shaw framed again, collecting 4th for his 57-13-0.

Oak peg 21, at the back of the island, gave Mick Jameson [Mid Leisure] an easy win on Thursday, with a return of 74-4-0 to pellet tactics at 5 metres and down the side.

At Beech 5 Jeff Harston [Wrexham] worked corn and maggot close in for his runner up 45-2-0. At peg 14 Andy Williams [Vespe] finished on 36-11-0 in third, and at peg 9 Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] had 34-12-0 for 4th.

Last weeks Wednesday winner Gary Morris [PI Bold] took the honours on Saturday this week after he drew peg 5 on the Hawthorn, where pellet, fished to the island found carp to 6lbs, for a final tally of 73-4-0. That was too good for Andy Kyte [Maver Sonubaits] at Larch 23. Andy had to go out to 12 metres to find carp to 5lbs with pellet, which gave figures of 57-13-0.

The next two weights also came from the Larch, as Colin Wozak made his third trip to the prize table with a third best on the day of 50-1-0 from peg 7. Fourth went to young rod Morgan Davidson [Colmic] on 46-4-0 at peg 15.

Dave Craggs [Maver Mid] added to his double win last week with a Sunday victory this time out, and peg 8 on the Sycamore produced the winner again. Dave fished to each side of the point with maggot to pick off carp from 1lb to 4lbs, interspersed with barbel to 2lbs on his way to 87-0-0.

The Willows finished second to the Sycamore again, this time peg 5 gave the runner up weight for Dave Barnard [Rod & Gun] whose pellet at 5metes and close in put 65-9-0 of carp to 4lbs on the scales.

Eric Bancroft [Rod& Gun] had a Chestnut best of 60-15-0 from peg 32 to take third ahead of Steve Owen [Mid Leisure] on 58-1-0 at Willows 17.
