BOLDINGS REPORT
The prize money was well spread at Boldings this week, with 15 different names appearing in the frames of four matches, and only Neil Turner (Fosters Tipton) framing more than once, with a third and a fourth to his credit.
Mick Jameson (Mid Leisure) set things rolling with a
Pete Ricketts (New Willenhall) offered pellet and maggot at 12 metres at peg 11 on the Middle to claim second with
Ash peg 5 gave the winning catch on Thursday last week, and did so again this week. Dave Barnard (Rod & Gun) was the beneficiary this time as carp to 4lbs responded to his pellet, presented at 10 and 12 metres, to give a return of 35-9-0.
Down on the Deepdale Ken Humphries (Morgans ) also had carp to 4lbs on pellet, fished long, but finished 10lbs short of the winner on
The best weight came on Saturday and fell to Richard Lawson (Maver) who had easily the best catch from the Chestnut, a level 52-0-0, caught on maggot, fished to the island at peg 2, and featuring carp to 6lbs.
Second came from the Larch, where Steve Owen (Mid Leisure) used corn at 10 and 12 metres to tempt carp to 5lbs to end the day on 47-9-0. Andy Bayliss-Kyte (Maver Sonu) led the way on the Sycamore with 28-0-0 from peg 2 to finish in third and Neil Turner had the first of his frame finishes when 0 from Larch peg 24 gave him 4th.
Gary Morris (OB Wolves) stepped up for the winners purse at the end of Sundays match, and it was Chestnut peg 21 which produced the goods again.
Ash peg 5 was in the frame again, this time for Dave Matson (R& G) . He fished corn, pellet and maggot at 10 and 12 metres for an even 36-0-0. Next to him, Neil Turner had 34-2-0 for second frame visit, and Dave Perry (OBW) finished off the weeks frames with
