Boldings report    2-11-16.

Ian Hughes [Drennan] beat a trio of Willows Pool weights to win the Monday open at Boldings from peg 22 on the Oak Pool. Switching between fishing shallow and on the deck with maggot, 10 metres out from the peg, Ian contacted carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs, as he eased to a 24lb winning margin, by scaling 108-7-0.

Last Mondays winner Phil Shaw [PI Boldings] led the Willows catches to fill second place. He was on peg 5, and caught carp to 6lbs and barbel to 4lbs on shallow fished caster to weigh in 84-12-0. On the other side of the pool, at peg 19, Mick Jameson [PI Bold] recorded a level 62-0-0 in third, and at peg 17 Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] was close behind on 60-6-0.

On Wednesday Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] topped the list with a Sycamore best of 81-5-0, to beat three weights from the Chestnut. Bob was on Sycamore peg 34, where carp and bream responded to his corn and maggot on the 10 metre line, as well as close in, with fish to 7lbs and 3lbs adding up to 81-5-0.

Andy Williams [Vespe] also worked corn and maggot at peg 7 on the Chestnut to tempt carp and bream from each side of the peg to finish a close second on 78-4-0. Round at peg 30, Ian Hughes was in the prizes again, collecting with a weight of 71-9-0. Fourth went to Dave Brown [Maver] at island peg 27, where he scaled 68-11-0.

As on Monday the Willows gave three of the four frame weights again on Thursday, but this time that included the winning catch. Rob Hancox [Kings] included carp to 7lbs with barbel to 4lbs in his 71-13-0 winning net, which came to caster at 7 metres as well as close in at peg 8.

Second came from the Oak, when Dave Brown [Maver] booked in 54-1-0 of carp to 7lbs, which he took on caster, fished along the dam from peg 5. Back on the Willows Chris Jones [Carp Crew] had 48-4-0 for third at peg 12, and hard on his heels was Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] whose 47-3-0 came from peg 16.

Saturday again saw the Willows giving three of the top four catches, with Mark Stevens [ PI Bold] leading the way from peg 7. Maggot at 12 metres produced an all carp 104-7-0 to hand victory to mark.

Harry Colley [PI Bold] worked pellet, corn and meat at Sycamore peg 24 to find carp to 8lbs on his way to 90-14-0 and second spot. Willow peg 12 gave third again, this time for Daz Glebe [Irlam] who weighed in 74-15-0, with Willows 17 providing Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] with 69-12-0 and fourth place.

Eric Bancroft moved to the top of the list on Sunday by posting the best weight of the week. Drawn on corner peg 30 on the Sycamore, Eric opted for a maggot attack on the 6 metre line, as well as regular forays to the margins, and netted carp to 8lbs and bream to 2lbs, which built into a 111-15-0 winner.

Andy Williams had his second runner up finish of the week when his corn and maggot combination put 75-9-0 on the scales at peg 27. Darren Warden [Kings] put his name on third prize by weighing 64-14-0 at Sycamore 13, and a Willows best of 63-15-0 handed fourth to Steve Roberts [Oak Ang Cent].
