Boldings report    19-10-16.

The Monday honours at Boldings Pools this went to Dave Matson [Rod & Gun] who won from peg 10 on the Sycamore Pool, a peg which hasn't thrown up a winner for some time. Pellet, corn and meat all played a part in attracting carp to 8lbs and barbel to 3lbs which gave a final tally of 92-15-0.

Almost opposite the winner, on peg 39, Tony Foster [PI Boldings] pursued him all the way to the whistle, finishing one fish behind on 87-3-0. Third went to an Oak Pool top weight of 72-5-0 by Phil Shaw [PI Bold] at peg 8, and a Chestnut top score of 68-5-0 from peg 6 handed fourth to Mick Foan [Rod & Gun].

Dave Brown [Maver] recorded yet another top weight of the week to score the first of win of a mid-week double on Wednesday. His was the only frame weight to come from the Willows Pool, but it beat the rest fairly comfortably. Caster at 10 metres, fished shallow, and on the deck produced 140-10-0 of carp to 8lbs and barbel to 4lbs.

Runner up Steve Owen [Monkhall] was top man on the Sycamore, the pool which filled the rest of the frame. He was on peg 13 and fished to each side of the point to net 103-13-0. Up at peg 47 Andy Williams [Vespe] made it an all ton top three by scaling 100-1-0, with fourth coming from peg 21 when Chris Jones [Carp Crew] weighed in 85-10-0.

Thursday saw Dave Brown at the top of the list again, this time on the Chestnut Pool. Weights were well down on the previous day and 83-1-0 of carp to 8lbs, caught on caster, fished shallow and down the side of peg 21, was enough to give a 27lbs winning margin.

Runner up was Mick Jameson [PI Bold] at peg 30. Mick opted for maggot at 12 metres, and had carp to 6lbs and bream to 2lbs in his 55-14-0. Steve Owen was in the mix again, filling third this time by scaling 43-10-0 at peg 36. That left Graham Roberts [PI Bold] to finish things off with his 41-11-0 at peg 39.

The Willows Pool came up with another winner on Saturday, this time for Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] who included carp to 6lbs and barbel to 4lbs in a winning net of 80-5-0. Maggot and pellet, worked at 12 metres and down side of peg 19 did the business for Andy.

Andy Williams made the list again, taking second  with a Chestnut Pool best of 55-11-0. H e was on peg 10, and caught carp to 7lbs on maggot and corn, on the close in line. Willows peg 5 gave Steve Hall [Oswestry] a return of 50-4-0 for third, and back on the Chestnut, Alan Naylor [Oak Ang Cent] claimed fourth with 44-1-0 at peg 32.

A shallow pellet approach gave Dave Hailey [PI Bold] control of the Sunday open by supplying a steady stream of carp to 7lbs, which came to his net at peg 33 on the Sycamore. At the end of the Match Dave had a total of 119-5-0 to hand over to the scales.

Along at peg 39 on the same pool, Tim Cadwallader [Matrix] operated with pellet and maggot on the 8 metre line, as well a close in, and had carp to 8lbs with barbel to 3lbs, but finished short of the winner on 83-2-0. Third and fourth came from the Oak Pool, with Mark Skelton [Oak Ang Cent] colleting third with his 80-13-0 at peg 8 and Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] fourth for his 75-4-0 at peg 1.
