          The Monday honours at Boldings Pools went to Phil Shaw [PI Boldings] this week, thanks to a shallow pellet approach at peg 5 on the Willows, which put a catch of 127-13-0 of carp to 6lbs into the weigh net.

          Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] put his name on the runner up prize with the best catch from the Chestnut, 96-10-0. He fished pellet, corn and maggot, in the side at peg 13 to pick up carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs. Mick Jameson [PI Bold] pipped Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] to third by 7 ounces. Mick had his 72-12-0 from Chestnut peg 8 and while Colin’s 72-5-0 came from Willows 18.

 

          There was only 9 ounces between first and second on Wednesday when Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] edged out Jason Atwell [Kingswinford]. Both caught on corn and pellet, with Bob having carp to 8lbs with bream to 3lbs, while Jason had carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs. Bob was pegged on Chestnut 32 where he caught at 4 metres as well as close in, to weigh 103-7-0. On the opposite side of the pool, at peg 15, Jason had all his 102-14-0 close in. In third place, Tony Foster [PIN Bold] had 85-8-0 at peg 36 and at peg 21 Terry Holmer [Club 2000] scaled 81-4-0 at peg 21.

 

          Phil Foster [PI Bold] recorded the best Boldings weight of the week on Thursday

After he drew peg 24 on the Sycamore. Fishing to each side of the peg, alternated with going out to 5 metres, Phil contacted carp to 9lbs and bream to 3lbs, which built into a total of 187-14-0.

          Paul Evans [PI Bold] presented caster at 4 metres out from the point at peg 8 to put together a mix of carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs to total 128-8-0 in second. On the other point, peg 13, Alun Jones [Tricast Weston] weighed 108-6-0 in third and Colin Reynolds had another 4^th by weighing 103-6-0.

 

          The Chestnut Pool came up with another winner on Saturday when Dave Brown [Maver] tempted carp in the 4lbs range with shallow caster to end the day on 126-2-0.

          Harry Colley [PI Bold] opted for pellet and meat at peg 21 to find a mix of carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs, but didn’t find enough of them and finished on 107-4-0. Colin Wozek [Matrix] topped the Larch list to take third overall with 99-8-0 from peg 25, and back on the Chestnut 91-10-0 from peg 32 gave fourth to Clive Wynn [Tri West].

 

          On Sunday Sean Barber [Maver] won the battle of the Willows when his pellet at 10 metres put 121-8-0 of carp to 5lbs and barbel to 4lbs on the scales at peg 9.

          Ghosties to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs made up the 102-10-0 which gave Gary Morris [PI Bold] second at peg 8. Gary caught on pellet worked close to the far bank and at 5 metres.           The Monday open at Boldings Pools saw a new name added to the list of this years winners when Scott Harding [Hazlegrove Angling] beat the rest to the main prize on the Sycamore.

          Scott pulled peg 16 from the bag and went to work with caster and worm, which he presented at 7 metres. Carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs showed a liking for the bait to put an even 84-0-0 on the scales for a 15lb winning advantage.

          Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] is having a good year at Boldings, and was in the money again, collecting the runner up packet. He was on peg 30 and had carp to 6lbs with bream to 3lbs on pellet at 5 metres and in the margins to weigh 68-14-0. Another frame regular, Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] put his name on third by scaling 62-8-0 at peg 39, and at peg 21 Dave Doughty [Woodend] finished off the frame with 58-6-0.

 

          Steve Owen [Monkhall] helped himself to another win on Wednesday when the action switched to the Beech Pool, and Steve drew regular form peg 16. Offering corn and pellet close in to each side of the peg found carp to 7lbs to give a total of 89-0-0.

          Scott Harding followed up his Monday win with a runner up here, his 77-11-0 coming from peg 5, where carp to 6lbs fell to caster at 8 metres. Behind Scott at corner peg 11 Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] filled third with 66-5-0 and over on 26 Pete Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] had a level 55-0-0 in fourth.

 

          Eric Bancroft made the list again on Thursday, filling the winners place this time. His was the only frame weight to come from the Chestnut Pool, the rest coming from the Sycamore. Eric was on peg 16 and worked pellet and paste close in to pick off carp to 7lbs together with barbel to 3lbs on his way to a level 89-0-0 winner.

          At corner peg 50 on the Sycamore Dave Lloyd [Maver] also fished pellet and paste, working down the shelf and in the margins to net 76-4-0 of carp to 6lbs. Over on peg 39 Howard Williams [Tricast Weston] was less than two pounds behind second with his 74-7-0 and on the point at peg 8 Phil Foster [PI Bold] weighed 67-14-0 in fourth.

 

          Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] had top weight of the week to win on Saturday from peg 20 on the Beech Pool. Maggot and corn fished to the paddles and in the side combined to sort out carp to 7lbs, which gave a tally of 108-9-0.

          Colin Reynolds pocketed another runner pay out thanks to 99-11-0 from beech peg 23. He stuck with pellet again, fishing at 5 metres and down the edge to net carp to 6lbs.

          Third went to a Larch Pool best performance by Steve Heitzman [Ind] who scaled 84-14-0 at peg 14. Also on the Larch was fourth man Harry Colley [PI Bold] whose 76-1-0 came from peg 23.

 

          On the Sycamore on Sunday shallow pellet, alternated with maggot in the side gave Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] a narrow win at peg 13. His net of 88-10-0 consisted of carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs, but he only had a one fish advantage over Morgan Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] at peg 34. He used similar tactics to land carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs to total 87-0-0.
