Boldings report
It was a week of fluctuating weights at Boldings Pools as the fish moved into and out of spawning mode.
Phil Shaw [PI Boldings] left the rest trailing in the Monday open at Boldings Pools last week, finishing 56lbs clear on 134-10-0. Pegged on 13 on the Sycamore, Phil operated with shallow pellet to attract carp to 6lbs.
Mick Foan [Rod & Gun] had carp and barbel at Sycamore peg 4 using corn and pellet at 5 metres and in the side, to end the day on 78-8-0 in second. Tony Woolaston [
Steve Owen [Monkhall] followed up his previous mid week double with another Wednesday winner, and was even further ahead of the field than Phil Shaw was on Monday. Steve more than doubled the runner up weight with his 120-8-0, which was made up with carp to 8lbs and barbel to 3lbs, which came to corn and maggot at Sycamore peg 30.
Mark Pincher [
Thursday saw a big jump in the average weights and Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] posted the top weight of the week, 172-6-0. He was on peg 21 on the Chestnut and had all his fish, carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs on pellet, worked at 5 metres and close to the bank.
Jordan Hall [Maver] was top on the Sycamore with 151-14-0 from peg 39.
Carp in the 4lbs range helped Simon Christian [Sedgley] top spot on Sunday when his shallow pellet attack at Larch peg 24 put 99-5-0 of them on the scales.
Second place went to a Willows Pool top catch of carp to 7lbs and barbel to 3lbs taken by Paul Dudley [Bomford AC] on pellet from peg 17. An Oak best of 72-1-0 from peg 29 gave third to Ricky Small [Allens Tackle] and back on the Larch Steve Hall [Oswestry] weighed 68-1-0 for fourth at peg 8.
