Peg 30 on the Sycamore Pool at Boldings responded to shallow fished maggot for Phil Shaw on Wednesday, giving a yield of 125-13-0 of carp to 5lbs.
Josh Humphreys [ABC] swapped between pellet feeder tactics and corn down the side at peg 25, where he included carp to 11lbs in his 106-2-0. Nathan Spain [ABC] had 95-3-0 at peg 8 for third, just ahead of Stuart Aston [Swan] on 91-9-0 at peg 49.
Maggot to each side of peg 39 on the Sycamore did the trick for Gareth Emlyn [Oakengates Ang Cent] on Thursday, bringing in carp to 9lbs, barbel to 3lbs and bream to 3lbs, which tallied up to 149-13-0.
Terry Edwards [Kings] had carp to 8lbs with barbel to 3lbs on pellet and corn in the Margins of Sycamore 36 to claim second with 121-6-0. Less than 2lbs behind second was Paul Evan [PI Boldings] with a Chestnut best of 119-9-0 at peg 21. back on the Sycamore, Brian Clark [Colmic Marukyu] collected fourth by scaling 96-2-0 at peg 4.
On Saturday Harry Colley [PI Bold] took a turn at the top with victory from peg 26 on the Chestnut. Pellet, corn and meat, fished to the island and down the side put carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs on the scales for a 94-2-0 winner.
Andy Kyte [Middle Severn Angling] headed the Larch card to pick up second. He worked shallow pellet, as well as corn and maggot close in close in at peg 1 to weigh 89-7-0. At Larch 24 Kevin Melville [Matrix TA] put 801109 on the scales for third and at peg 16 Steve Hall [Oswestry] picked up fourth with 72-12-0.
On Sunday Andy Kyte moved up a place to become the first angler to win the Nick Gretton Memorial more than once. He did it style too, recording the top weight of the year at the fishery, 198-5-0. Drawn on peg 33 on the Sycamore, Andy worked hard with shallow pellet to net a succession of carp to 5lbs with bream to 3lbs to build his weight.
Runner up Dave Hailey [PI Bold] also used shallow pellet tactics at peg 3 on the Ash to put together his 135-7-0 of carp to 6lbs.
Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] and Shane Rogers [Oak Ang Cent] shared third, each having 125-2-0. Andy had his catch from Ash 18 and Shane was on Sycamore 40.
