Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] added to his double win of last week with another Monday win in a week of big weights, which increased as the week went on.
The Oak Pool was the scene again as Colin put his pellet and corn bait combo to work, presenting it at 5 metres, alternated with the close I line at Oak peg 27, where carp to 7lbs and bream to 3lbs combined to give figures of 140-8-0.
Opposite Colin, at Oak 13 Dave Matson [Rod & Gun] stuck to the close in line with pellet and corn to net 120-7-0 of carp to 8lbs to finish in second. Phil Shaw [PI Boldings] had top weight from the Willows Pool, 105-9-0 at peg 4, which gave him third overall, just ahead of Mick Jameson [PI Bold] on 104-4-0 at Oak peg 16.
Phil Shaw and Mick Jameson finished in the same order on Wednesday, but this time in first and second places. Phil worked shallow maggot at Sycamore peg 47 to pull over 50lbs clear of the field, with carp to 5lbs and barbel to 3lbs added up to 144-10-0.
At peg 24 Mick offered pellet down the side and at 5 metres to tempt his runner up 91-6-0 of carp to 8lbs with bream to 3lbs. Adam Jones [Ind] edged third when he scaled 80-10-0 at peg 21, with Mick Keene [ABC] snapping at his heels on 80-0-0 at peg 4.
Dave Hailey [PI Bold] enjoyed the first of two wins when he led a frame which gave an average weight of over 128lbs on Thursday. Oak peg 27 responded to his maggot and corn, presented in the margins, with carp and barbel eagerly snapping up the bait to give figures of 159-8-0.
At peg 22, Mondays winner Colin Reynolds got amongst the fish again, netting 119-13-0 on pellet and corn to grab second. Mick Jameson was in the prize list again, picking up third tanks to a Chestnut Pool best of 117-11-0 at peg 38. Fourth came from the Oak when Paul Evans [PI Bold] finished close behind Jameson with a level 117-0-0 at Oak 5.
Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe] is having a good run, and not for the first time, he had top weight of the week. It came on Saturday, at Sycamore peg 13, and consisted of carp to 9lbs, with barbel to 3lbs, which homed in Andy’s maggot and corn, fished to each side of the point.
Peg 21 featured again, giving the runner up weight this time. Maggot, fished shallow, and into the side by Mitch Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] put 126-8-0 of carp and bream on the scales.
Peg 4 was also in the frame again when Sean Barber [Maver Sonubaits] recorded 106-9-0 to collect third. Fourth man Pete Ricketts took his 84-14-0 from peg 31.
The second leg of the Dave Hailey double came on Sunday, when he drew on the Oak Pool again. This time, having pulled number 13 from the bag, he opted for a shallow pellet attack, which put 147-1-0 of carp to 6lbs in the net for victory.
Mitch Davidson finished second again, his 139-0-0 of carp to 7lbs on shallow maggot and pellet, coming from Willows peg 16. At peg 19 on the Willows John Cockayne [
