BOLDINGS REPORT
Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] and Ken Humphreys [Oswestry] were the top men at Boldings Pools this week, with Colin enjoying two wins, while Ken recorded a first, a second and a third.
First win for Colin came on the Monday open courtesy of a 30-10-0 net of carp to 3lbs. Pellet at 12 metres found the fish at Stock Pool peg 10.
Next door at peg 11 Phil Shaw [PI Boldings] couldn’t keep pace with the winner, finishing the day on
A change of pools on Thursday brought Reynolds his second victory, and by doubling his Monday weight he recorded top catch of the week. Peg 4 on the Chestnut was the scene for this card topping performance, with pellet the successful bait again. Colin presented it at 13 metres to pick off carp to the 4lb mark as he made his way to figures of 62-11-0.
On the other side of the pool, at peg 25, Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] worked pellet at 12 metres and down the shelf, where carp in the 1lb to 3lb range picked up the bait, leaving him 4lbs short of the target on 58-12-0 when the whistle sounded.
Ken Humphreys put in his first frame appearance by scaling 51-1-0 to take third at Larch 16. That was followed by a Chestnut top score of 37-4-0 from peg 4 which handed fourth to Howard Williams [Tricast Weston].
Humphreys win came on a cold, very wet and windy Saturday when he took advantage of island peg 9 on the Hawthorn Pool. Baiting with maggot to the island and on the 4 metre line helped him to ease clear of the opposition, with carp to 6lbs pushing his weight to 51-15-0.
At peg corner 5 Andy Rumble [
On Sunday Andy Kyte [Maver Sonubaits] included bream to 3lbs with carp to 6 lbs in a winning catch of 47-9-0 at Chestnut peg 32. Feeding maggot at 6 metres and on the inside line got the fish moving and accepting Andy’s maggot hookbait.
Just along the bank from the winner, at peg 35, Ken Humphreys put in his runner up appearance by scaling 40-9-0. Third came from the Larch when Dave Brown [Maver Midlands] dropped 38-13-0 into the weigh bag at peg 16, and at peg 8 on the same pool Tony Moreton [Preston Innov] was a close fourth with his 37-12-0.
