Boldings report

BOLDINGS REPORT  12-11-13.

Eric Bancroft [Rod & Gun] won a Monday open affected by Autumnal weather at Boldings this week. The fish were showing a reluctance to feed as they began their adaptation to colder conditions, and Eric took the honours on the Chestnut Pool with a mix of carp to 6lbs and barbel to 3lbs totalling 39-2-0. The fish fell to maggot fished at 5 metres and 7 metres at peg 13.

Last Mondays winner Mick Jameson [PI Boldings] finished second this time, his level 32-0-0 coming to pellet and maggot from peg 1. Bob Tromans [Fiery Holes] edged third from Danny Boden [Oakengates Angling Centre] by 24-9-0 to 24-0-0.

Having had a week off from the winners enclosure last week Colin Wozek [Matrix Total Angling] put together three winning performances this week, the first of which came on Wednesday on the Sycamore. Drawn on peg 39, Colin offered pellet, up in the water to attract carp to 6lbs, for a total of 52-15-0.

Bob Tromans moved up a place to add a second to his third on Monday, he had carp to 5lbs with bream to 2lbs on corn to weigh 42-1-0 at peg 47. Mick Jameson sapped places with Bob to pick up third this time, his 35-6-0 coming from peg 31.

The fish at peg 9 on the Willows Pool were back in feeding mode for the Thursday match and gave Wozek top weight of the week for his second victory. Shallow pellet did the trick again, bringing a succession of carp to 7lbs to the net for an aggregate of 102-6-0.

Runner up Ken Humphreys [Oswestry] had carp and barbel on corn and pellet for 72-14-0 at peg 5. 63-7-0 from peg 4 saw Colin Reynolds [Bilston Ang Cent] into third and 59-6-0 from peg 17 handed fourth to Andy Williams [Colmic Vespe].

Things were tight on Saturday when 87-11-0 from Beech peg 24 gave Craig Ebbrell [Maver] an advantage of just over 3lbs. he baited with pellet and maggot on the 10 metre line to tempt carp to 7lbs.

Richard O’Connor [Drennan NW] also operated with pellet at peg 14 on the Larch, and like the winner had carp to 7lbs to finish on 84-6-0. There was nothing between Andy Kyte [Maver Sonubaits] and Mitch Davidson [Oakengates Ang Cent] who shared third with 82-8-0 each, Andy at Larch 16 and Mitch at Beech 7.

Colin Wozek changed to shallow caster to complete his hat trick, after he drew peg 19 on the Larch on Sunday. Carp to 6lbs came to the shells, which Colin fished in open water as well as down the side, to round off his highly successful week with 90-14-0.

Craig Ebbrell dropped a place to add a second place to his Saturday win, his 82-3-0 came to pellet and maggot, fished at 6 metres and close to the dam wall at Oak peg 2. Andy Amos [Drennan NW] topped the Beech card  with 73-1-0 to collect third and also on the Beech was Dave Brown [Maver] who had 72-9-0 for fourth at peg 18.
